RACE 3 (2) THROUGH THE CRACKS: Smart Gosford-trained gelding has had a well-planned prep for this rich final, qualifying with an impressive second in the Newcastle heat over 1200m at his first start for seven weeks followed by a strong barrier trial hitout at Randwick where he finished second to Happy Clapper. He was beaten only half a length by Asharani in the Newcastle heat after missing the start by three lengths and can turn the tables as he meets that horse 1.5kg better over this extra trip, noting that he won his only previous start over 1400m when he swamped his rivals at Warwick Farm in January. Wide draw on a soft track presents no problems and the big plus is the booking of James McDonald.

RACE 5 (4) DAWN PASSAGE: Made a terrific return from a six months spell to finish hard, reeling off the fastest last 200m, for second in the Listed Darby Munro over 1200m at Rosehill on March 21. He was stiff not to have beaten California Zimbol last time and his added fitness and return to his home track where he is a winner of his only start gives him a great each way show in an open race.

RACE 10 (9) MANICURE: Honest Godolphin mare made an excellent return from a four months break when a game second to Vegadaze in a strong G3 Star Kingdom Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on March 28. Never out of the money in her four Randwick starts, she measures up nicely under the weight conditions of this wide open mares race from her good draw.
