The Henk Grewe-trained Leopoldina (3 f ex Lady's Art by Verglas) ran out a ready winner of the Preis Der Burckhardt Metall Glas (Listed, 1600m) at Hannover on Sunday and in the process handed former Darley reverse shuttler Sepoy (Elusive Quality) with his 19th stakes winner.

Last seen winning for the second time in her career, the three-year-old filly surged home to beat Lips Eagle (Gleneagles) by two lengths, while Nona (Pastorius) was another short-head away in third.

Purchased by Gestut Idee for 15,000gns at the 2017 Tattersalls December Foal Sale, the filly is one of three winners and first stakes scorer out of winning Verglas (Highest Honor) mare Lady's Art.

Lady's Art herself is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Remus De La Tour (Stormy River), while she is a sister to Listed winner Chill, who in turn produced Listed Childa (Duke Of Marmalade) - the dam Group 3 Chilean (Iffraaj).

Sepoy - whose progeny is headed by Group 1 Alizee - shuttled to Europe for five seasons and he now exclusively stands at the operation’s Kelvinside base in the Hunter Valley for a fee of $7,700 (inc GST).
