Iffraaj, Tough Speed & Glass Harmonium add new stakes winners

Miss Ella (3 f ex Zenella by Zabeel) provided former Haunui Farm shuttler Iffraaj (Zafonic) with his 82nd stakes winner when she won Wednesday's Oaks Prelude (Listed, 1600m) at Pukekohe Park. 

Trained by Stephen Marsh and owned by Go Racing, Miss Ella scored a convincing two and a quarter length victory over Outfit (Tivaci) with another three quarters of a length back to Miss Madison (Astern) in third. "She jumped and put herself there and travelled beautifully throughout. I thought her turn of foot at the top of the straight was good and she won with a fair bit in hand," said Marsh who will aim the filly at next month's New Zealand Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m). 

Miss Ella, a NZ$240,000 purchase by Go Racing from the draft of Cambridge Stud at Book 1 of New Zealand Bloodstock's 2020 Karaka Yearling Sale, has now won two of her six career starts.  

Iffraaj's stakes winners are headed by 11 Group / Grade One winners and his advertised fee at Darley's Dalham Hall Stud is £17,500. 

 

Six for Tough Speed
Tough Speed recorded his sixth stakes winner when Take The Sit (5 m ex Tula by Lago Delight) won the Vadamos Stakes (Gr 3, 1400m) at Launceston. The Bill Ryan-trained mare held off Estoril Park (Pride Of Dubai) to score by a length and a half and took her tally to seven wins and four placings from 18 starts. Take The Sit was bought for $15,000 by her trainer at the 2018 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale when offered by Armidale Stud. 

Tough Speed's 2021 fee at Armidale Stud was advertised at $2,750 (inc GST). 

 

Two for Glass Harmonium 
Aurora's Symphony (5 g ex Aurora's Hot by Fantastic Light) became the second stakes winner for the formerly Blue Gum Farm-based Glass Harmonium (Verglas) when he won Wednesday's Launceston Cup (Gr 3, 2400m). The Simon Wilde-trained gelding beat favourite, Ho Ho Khan (Makfi), by a length and a half.
