Three for Flying Artie
Flying Crazy (3 g ex Forever Crazy by Encosta De Lago) became the third stakes winner for Flying Artie (Artie Schiller) when he won Monday's Canberra Guineas (Listed, 1400m). The Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou-trained Flying Crazy, a $40,000 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale buy by WBF Thoroughbreds and Equi-Com Syndications, ran on well in the closing stages and beat Military Expert (Redoute's Choice) by three quarters of a length. Flying Crazy was bred by SF Bloodstock and partners and is the first winner for his dam whose Russian Revolution (Snitzel) colt was bought by Equi-Com Syndications at last year's Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $80,000. The Newgate Farm-based Flying Artie finished third in the leading first season sires championship last year and he covered a book of 201 mares - his biggest book to date - last year at a fee of $33,000 (inc GST).

61 for Street Boss
The Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained and Godolphin-raced Bistro (2 f ex Estaminet by Lonhro) provided Street Boss (Street Cry) with his 61st stakes winner when she won Monday's Cinderella Stakes (Listed, 1050m) at Morphettville. Having her third career start, Bistro scored a convincing three length victory over Runaway Belle (Pariah), with See You In Heaven (Divine Prophet) third and a decision on where she goes next will be made in the coming weeks. Currently stand at Darley's Jonabell Farm in Kentucky for a fee of US$15,000, Street Boss covered 117 mares in Australia last year.

126 for Savabeel
Stakes placed previously, Black Sail (7 g ex Ennerdale by Singspiel) recorded his first stakes victory in Monday's C S Hayes Memorial Cup (Listed, 1600m) at Morphettville and gave his multiple champion sire Savabeel (Zabeel) his 126 stakes winner. Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Black Sail beat Royal Mile (Danerich) by two lengths and took his record to eight wins and 13 placings in 47 starts. Black Sail was a $170,000 purchase by Moody Racing, First Light Racing and Paul Willets Bloodstock at the 2016 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale when offered by Phoenix Broodmare Farm. Waikato Stud's Savabeel had 35 lots sell at last week's Karaka 2022 Book 1 sale for a total of NZ$10,755,000 and average of NZ$307,286.

Four for Turn Me Loose
The day after siring his first Group 1 winner, Windsor Park Stud's Turn Me Loose (Iffraaj) notched up his fourth stakes winner when Ancient Girl (3 f ex Herculaneum by Elusive City) won the Morphettville Guineas (Listed, 1600m) on Monday. A $150,000 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale purchase by McDonald Racing at the 2020 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, Ancient Girl scored a two and a half length victory over Harleymoven (Foxwedge), recording her third victory in six career starts. Turn Me Loose has two crops of racing age and Lickety Split won the Sistema Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) at Ellerslie on Sunday, becoming her sire's third stakes winner and first Group 1 winner.

Second in the Torney Night Cup (Listed, 2500m) last start, Daqiansweet Junior (4 g ex Paulette by Keeper) won Monday's Adelaide Cup (Gr 2, 3200m) becoming the second stakes winner for Sweet Orange (War Front).
