The success of Shamus Award's (Snitzel) progeny on the racecourse this season has seen Rosemont Stud announce the stallion will stand for $88,000 (inc GST), up from $33,000 (inc GST) last season, an increase of 167 per cent.

Shamus Award has sired 65 stakes winners to date, recording his fifth Group 1 winner last weekend when El Patroness took out the Australian Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m), his fifth individual stakes winner this season. The sire is currently sitting fifth in the leading sires table in Australia by earnings.

Having begun his career in the Hunter Valley at Widden Stud in 2014 when he covered 165 mares at an advertised fee of $27,500, he moved to Rosemont Stud in 2019 and stood for just $11,000 (inc GST). The son of Snitzel (Redoute's Choice) was the second busiest stallion in Australia last season, covering 216 mares.

The fees for Rosemont Stud's other two stallions, Hanseatic (Street Boss) and Strasbourg (I Am Invincible) remain unchanged at $17,600 (inc GST) and $11,000 (inc GST) respectively.
