Uncle Mo colt out of Irish Lights scores at Naval on Saturday 

The Aidan O'Brien-trained Lipizzaner (2 c Uncle Mo - Irish Lights by Fastnet Rock) broken his maiden at Navan on Saturday. 

Lipizzaner finished second at his first two career starts before funning fourth behind The Lir Jet (Prince Of Lir) in the Norfolk Stakes (Gr 2, 5f) at Royal Ascot.  Having the fourth start of his career, the colt defeated Coulthard (Coulsty) by a half length with another two lengths back to Tar Heel (Zoffany) in third. 

Lipizzaner, a US$650,000 Keeneland September Yearling Sale purchase by Ben McElroy as agent, becomes the third winner for his dam. Winner of the 2009 Thousand Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m), Irish Lights has also produced Group 2 winner Omei Sword (High Chaparral) who finished second in the Golden Rose Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) and was sold as a broodmare prospect for $1.7 million at the 2018 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale. 

Irish Lights is out of Aspen Falls (Hennessy) who produced five winners and is from the family of successful broodmare Fall Aspen (Pretense). She was exported to the US in 2017 and after Lipizzaner produced another colt by former shuttler Uncle Mo (Indian Charlie) who is catalogued as Lot 219 at this year's Keeneland September Yearling Sale from the draft of Eaton Sales.
