Former Coolmore Stud reverse shuttle Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry) was represented by his ninth winner in his first northern hemisphere bred crop when the William Haggas-trained Dubai Honour (2 c ex Mondelice by Montjeu) broke his maiden at the third time of asking at Haydock on Saturday.

Raced by Mohamed Obaida, the colt scored a two and a half length victory over Oman (Australia) in the EBF Novice Stakes (1m) whilst Military Mission (Mastercraftsman) was another length and a quarter back in third.

Bought for 110,000gns at last year’s Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 2, Dubai Honour becomes the first winner out of the unraced Montjeu (Sadler’s Wells) mare Mondelice who was bought by Meridian International for 75,000gns at the 2017 Tattersalls December Mare Sale. His second dam is Compelling (Kingmambo) who has produced three winners from as many foals to race including French Group 3 winner Last Kingdom (Frankel). The colt’s third dam is Phoenix Stakes (Gr 1, 6f) winner Damson (Entrepreneur) who is the dam of Group 2 winning sire Requinto (Dansili).

Crowned champion first season sire in Australia last season, Pride Of Dubai’s first northern hemisphere bred crop is headed by the Group 3 winner Star Of Emaraaty and Listed winner Fancy Man. His first southern hemisphere crop meanwhile includes Bella Nipotina and Tanker and he is sitting at the head of the second season sires table in Australia by earnings.
