Lullaby Moon lands Two-Year-Old Trophy
The Ralph Beckett-trained Lullaby Moon (2 f ex Bold Bidder by Indesatchel) proved too strong for her rivals in the Two-Year-Old Trophy (Listed, 6f) at Redcar on Saturday and became Haunui Farm shuttler Belardo’s (Lope De Vega) third stakes winner.
Last seen running third in the Firth of Clyde Stakes (Gr 3, 6f), the two-year-old battled on bravely to beat Zamaani (Night Of Thunder) by half a length, while Mamba Wamba (Mehmas) was another two and three-quarter lengths away in third.
Purchased by D Tunmore / GB Horseracing for 16,000gns at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale from the Bearstone Stud draft, the filly is out winning mare Bold Bidder (Indesatchel), who has produced two other winners.
Further back this is the family of Group 2 winner Mind Games (Puissance).
Belardo has made a blistering start to his career as a stallion and Lullaby Moon joins Group 2 winner Isabella Giles and Group 3 scorer Elysium, while his total winners count stands at eight.
The stallion - whose first southern hemisphere-bred runners hit the track this season - stands at Haunui Farm for a fee of NZ$10,000 (plus GST).
