Darley’s stalwart stallion Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) was represented by his 190th stakes winner on Saturday as One Ruler (2 c ex Fintry by Shamardal) produced an impressive performance to win the Autumn Stakes (Gr 3, 1m) at Newmarket.

Last seen finishing third in the Flying Scotsman Stakes (Listed, 7f) on September 11, the Charlie Appleby-trained colt pulled clear inside the final furlong to post a comfortable length and three-quarter victory over Van Gogh (American Pharoah), while the winner’s stablemate Dhahabi (Frankel) was a further length and a half further adrift in third.

The winning colt is out of 2014 Prix de Sandringham (Gr 2, 1600m) winner Fintry (Shamardal), who is herself out of Group 3 winner Campsie Fells (Indian Ridge).

Further back this is the same family as Listed winners Indian Jade (Sleeping Indian), Millstreet (Polish Precedent), Chief Barker (Azamour) and Japhils (Choisir), who won at Listed level in Australia.

Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) stood at Darley’s Dalham Hall for a fee of £250,000 and he is represented in Australia this season by his multiple Group 1-winning son Too Darn Hot, who is standing his first season at Darley’s Kelvinside base for a fee of $44,000 (inc GST).
