The Paddy Twomey-trained Fantasy Lady (2 f ex Warshah by Shamardal) broke her maiden in Sunday’s Staffordstown Stud Stakes (Listed, 1m) at the Curragh and in doing so became the 66th stakes winner for Dark Angel (Acclamation).

Bred by Yeomanstown Stud and raced by Martin Schwartz and Genesis Thoroughbreds Club, Fantasy Lady scored a short head victory over Sense Of Style (Zoffany) with another two and a half lengths back to La Joconde (Frankel) in third.

Bought for 80,000gns at Book 2 of last year’s Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by Genesis Thoroughbreds and Howson & Houldsworth, Fantasy Lady is one of three winners out of the unraced Shamardal (Giant’s Causeway) mare Warshah. She is out of Ribot’s Guest (Be My Guest) who produced three winners headed by the Prix de l’Opera (Gr 1, 2000m) winner Kinnaird (Dr Devious) who produced Group 2 winner Berkshire (Mount Nelson) as well was 2019 Wagga Wagga Gold Cup (Listed, 2000m) winner Abdon (Cacique).

Dark Angel stands at Yeomanstown Stud in Ireland and he has sired seven Group 1 winners to date including Darley shuttler Harry Angel.

Also at the Curragh on Sunday, Hot Streak (Iffraaj) notched up his second stakes winner when A Case Of You (2 c ex Karjera by Key Of Luck) took out the Anglesey Stakes (Gr 3, 6.5f).

The colt came into Sunday’s race having broken his maiden over seven furlongs at Down Royal on September 4 and scored a length and a quarter victory over Lipizzaner (Uncle Mo), who is out of Irish Lights (Fastnet Rock). Giuliana (Muhaarar) was another length and three quarters back in third.

A Case Of You is one of three winners and the only stakes winner out of the placed Key Of Luck (Chief’s Crown) mare Karjera who is a sister to the dual Listed winning gelding Akanti and Grade 3 placed Lock And Key.

The Tweenhills Stud-based Hot Streak, who won the 2014 Temple Stakes (Gr 2, 5f) and Cornwallis Stakes (Gr 3, 5f) the year prior, has two crops of racing age and he stood for a fee of £5,000 in 2020.
