The Shadwell Stud-raced Aldaary (2 g ex Broughtons Revival by Pivotal) posted an ultra impressive performance to shed his maiden status at the first time of asking as he landed a race over six furlongs at Yarmouth on Monday and in the process handed Darley shuttler Territories (Invincible Spirit) his 14th first-crop winner.

After being sent off the well-supported 11/4 joint-favourite, the result never looked in doubt as the William Haggas-trained two-year-old gelding glided to the front of affairs and showed a good turn of foot to beat Media Guest - who is by Haunui Farm shuttler Belardo (Lope De Vega) by three and three-quarter lengths. Dashing Dick - a son of Woodside Park Stud shuttler Cable Bay (Invincible Spirit) - was another neck away in third.

The gelding was purchased by his owners for 150,000gns at Book 2 of 2019 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale from the Ballyhimikin Stud draft, having been snapped up by McKeever Bloodstock for 55,000gns from the Broughton Bloodstock at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale the year before.

Aldaary is out of the three time-winning Pivotal (Polar Falcon) mare Broughtons Revival, who has produced five winners, headed by Swedish Group 3 winner Easy Road (Compton Place).

Further back the gelding shares a page with Group 3 winner Camborne (Doyen) and Listed scorer Vachti (Crystal Palace).

Territories’ first crop also includes seven stakes placegetters and he is standing at Darley’s Kelvinside base for a fee of $11,000 (inc GST).
