The Roger Varian-trained Hey Mr (2 c ex Filona - Motivator) shed his maiden status at the fourth time of asking and in the process became first-crop winner number 17 for Darley shuttler for Territories (Invincible Spirit).

The colt was purchased by Good Will Bloodstock for 45,000gns at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale from the Old Buckenham Stud draft, before selling to Alex Elliot for £110,000 at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale from the Mountain View Stud draft.

Last seen running second over five and half furlongs at York, the two-year-old colt stayed on strongly all the way to the line to beat Imperium Blue (Lethal Force) by a length and three-quarters, while Bedford Flyer (Clodovil) was another length away in third.

Hey Mr becomes the third winner out of the Listed-placed Motivator (Montjeu) mare Filona, who is herself a half-sister to Fanoulpifer (High Chaparral).

The filly's third dam is Fafinta (Indian Ridge), who in turn produced Listed-placed trio Pretend (Invincible Spirit), Fiulin (Galileo) and Bella Nostalgia (Raven's Pass). This is also the family of multiple Group 1 winner and successful sire Falbrav (Fairy King).

Territories' first European-bred crop includes stakes-winning pair Fulgentia and Rougir and he is standing at Darley's Kelvinside base for a fee of $11,000 (inc GST).
