The William Haggas-trained Companionship (2 f Galileo - Sweet Idea by Snitzel) - the first foal out of 2015 Galaxy (Gr 1, 1100m) winner Sweet Idea (Snitzel) - got off the mark at her second attempt when landing a race over a mile at Chelmsford on Friday.

Last seen running a fast finishing second over the same distance at Kempton, the two-year-old daughter of Coolmore Stud-based superstar stallion Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) - who is raced by The Queen - finished with a flourish to beat Quenelle D'Or (Golden Horn) by a head, while Ms Gandhi (Kingman) was another three-quarters of a length away in third.

“It was an extremely taking debut at Kempton,” said winning jockey Tom Marquand. “She got back in the field and managed to run home well.

“Today the plan was to go forward, but to be honest she hasn’t still quite worked it all out, so it is good that she could win and with those elements of greenness.

“She’s improving and learning the ropes still and hopefully there is a lot more to come from her - she’s an exciting filly and the future looks bright.”

Bred by Arrowfield Stud, Sweet Idea - who also won four times at Group 2 level - was purchased by Nick Vass Bloodstock for $1,600,000 at the 2015 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale. She was later sold to her The Queen in a deal negotiated by John Warren.

The daughter of Snitzel (Redoute’s Choice) is out of Group 3-placed Flidais (Timber Country), making her a sister to dual Group 2 winner Showtime, who now stands alongside his father at Arrowfield Stud for a fee of $11,000 (inc GST), while she also counts Listed winner Rush (Charge Forward) among her half-siblings.

Sweet Idea is also a half-sister to the dam of Listed scorer Supreme Idea (I Am Invincible) and also hails from the family of dual top-flight scorer Electronic (First Norman).
