Marianafoot (6 h ex Marianabaa by Anabaa) scored his first victory at Group 1 level when he won Sunday’s Prix du Palais-Royal (Gr 3, 1400m) at Longchamp.
The six-year-old tracked the early leader, Namos (Medicean) before taking the lead after the first 400 metres and Marianafoot then stayed on in the closing stages to beat favourite Duhail (Lope De Vega) by a length. Namos was a length and a quarter back in third.
Marianafoot is one of 66 stakes winners for Footstepsinthesand (Giant’s Causeway) and is a half-brother to isted winner Padron (Gris De Gris) being out of Marianabaa (Anabaa). His second dam is Listed winner Maria Gabriella (Rock Of Gibraltar), the dam of six winners headed by Listed winner Mariafoot (Footstepsinthesand).
