The future of Shadwell has been made clearer after it was confirmed Sheikha Hissa Hamdan Al Maktoum will succeed her late father Sheikh Hamdan as the head of his racing and breeding operation, Shadwell Estate Company. Sheikh Hamdan died earlier this year at the age of 75.

Shadwell's racing manager Angus Gold confirmed the news to the Racing Post on Tuesday following a meeting in Dubai with Sheikha Hissa.

Last month's Magic Millions National Weanling and Broodmare sales saw the dispersal of Shadwell's Australian fillies, broodmares and weanlings and the operation has also been scaled back in South Africa.
