Albula breaks her maiden for trainer Joseph O’Brien and Rosemont Stud-bred Little Miss Dynamo continues winning ways
The Joseph O’Brien-trained Albula (2 f Galileo - Dawn Wall by Fastnet Rock) broke her maiden at Naas on Monday and in doing so became the first winner for Group Three winner Dawn Wall (Fastnet Rock).
Under Declan McDonogh, Albula, who was bred by Coolmore, Flaxman Stables and Arkle Bloodstock, kept on in the closing stages to score by a length and a quarter over Dabana (Iffraaj).
Dawn Wall was bought by BBA Ireland at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $1.3 million. Sent into training with Chris Waller, Dawn Wall went on to win four times including the Kembla Grange Classic (Gr 3, 1600m) in 2017.
She is a half-sister to fellow Group Three winners Osaila (Danehill Dancer) and Obama Rule (Danehill Dancer) being out of Mennetou (Entrepreneur) who is herself a daughter of Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Detroit (Riverman).
Across the Irish channel on Monday, Little Miss Dynamo (2 f Starspangledbanner - Frankly So by Frankel) scored her second career win when she won the EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (6f).
Bred by Rosemont Stud, Little Miss Dynamo, who was bought by Pinkerton Bloodstock for €45,000 at the 2019 Goffs November Foal Sale, is the first winner out of the unraced Frankel (Galileo) mare Frankly So who was a €88,000 purchase for Poppy Bloodstock at the 2018 Goffs Ireland November Breeding Stock Sale.
Now in Australia, Frankly So was covered last September by Darley shuttler Too Darn Hot (Dubawi).
