A nomination to Whitsbury Manor Stud's Showcasing (Oasis Dream) was most expensive to sell during the Tattersalls Online Charity Sale in aid of Ukraine and the Turkey-Syria Earthquake appeal which concluded on Tuesday.

The nomination was bought by Turquoise Bloodstock, with Showcasing's 2023 fee advertised at £45,000.

La Australiana Partnership went to £30,000 to secure a nomination to Kodiac (Danehill).

Nominations to Sea The Moon (Sea The Stars), Sottsass (Siyouni) and Hello Youmzain (Kodiac) sold for £23,000, £22,000 and £17,500 respectively.

A total of 79 nominations sold, raising over £370,000 with the auction initiated by Newmarket-based bloodstock agent Oliver St Lawrence and equine osteopath Stephen Byrne.

The sale took place without fees with the money going to Giving to Ukraine and the Disaster Emergency Committee for the Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.

Giving to Ukraine have successfully sent 3 convoys of medical supplies, emergency equipment, food, clothes and support to orphanages and refugee centres located along the Poland/Ukraine border. Their fourth convoy departed last Friday.

DEC Charities and their local partners are among the first responders providing urgent help. Immediate priorities are search and rescue, medical treatment for the injured, shelter for those who have lost their homes, heating in safe spaces, blankets, warm clothes, and ensuring people have food and clean water.
