Arrowfield Stud shuttler Mikki Isle (Deep Impact) was provided with his first winner on Saturday as the Takayuki Yasuda-trained Dualist (2 c ex Dual Story by End Sweep) made a winning debut over 1200 metres at Hanshin.

The two-year-old colt stayed on well to beat Yosshi Faith (South Vigorous) by three quarters of a length with another two lengths back to Meisho Yoshiteru (Pyro) in third.

Bred by Northern Farm, the colt is out of four time-winning End Sweep (Forty Niner) mare Dual Story, who has produced five winners including Listed-placed Dual Sword (Durandal).

Dual Story herself is out of Canadian Listed winner Diablo's Story (Diablo), making her a half-sister to fellow Listed winner Open Story (Open Forum).

Diablo's Story is a sister to Grade 1 winner Exciting Story, winner of the Metropolitan Handicap (Gr 1, 12f), while she also counts Listed-scoring duo Strong Memory (End Sweep) and Sweeping Story (End Sweep) as her half-siblings.

Further back this is the same family of Grade 3 winner Sweeping Paddy (Paddy O'Prado) and Listed-winning pair C S Incharge (Take Charge Indy) and Colorful Days (Fuji Kiseki).

The Shadai Stallion Station-based Mikki Isle has stood at Arrowfield Stud for the past three seasons, but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic the stallion will not return to Australia for the 2020 season. His first Australian-bred crop will be two next season.
