A Sebring (More Than Ready) half-brother to the Tony Gollan-trained Zoustyle (Zoustar) topped the 2021 Hong Kong International Sunday on Sunday when bought for HK$5 million (approximately $850,000). All 16 lots offered sold for a total of HK$47.2 million (approximately $8 million), at an average of HK$2.95 million (approximately $500,000) at a median of HK$2.8 million (approximately $475,000).

Offered as Lot 14, the sale topping gelding was bought by Harry Tsang Cheung Hin, and is out of Listed placed mare Fashion (Anabaa) making him a half-brother to Listed winning gelding Zoustyle. He had been bought for $550,000 at last year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Edinglassie Stud. He will be trained by Tony Cruz who is hopeful that the two-year-old will run early.

"I think we will get results very quickly with this horse, he's a good-looking horse," Cruz said.

Peter Lau Pak Fai, owner of Romantic Combo (Cappella Sansevero), went to HK$4.8 million for Lot 9, an Acclamation (Royal Applause) gelding out of Folk Melody (Street Cry), who has already produced winners in Great Britain. The gelding had been bought for 300,000gns at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2019.

Two other geldings drew HK$3.8 million: Lot 13, an Irish-bred Mastercraftsman (Danehill Dancer) half-brother to four individual winners, and Lot 20, an Australian-bred son of Street Boss (Street Cry) out of winning Fusaichi Pegasus (Mr Prospector) mare Sachariste, the dam of Listed placed pair Can't Remember (Statue Of Liberty) and Head Noises (Sebring). The gelding was bought for $140,000 at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and his second dam is Grade 1 winner Sacahuista (Raja Baba), dam of Group 1 winner and sire Ekraar (Red Ransom).

"I thought the horses were well presented today and I thought a couple in particular looked outstanding, so I was very pleased," said Bill Nader, the Hong Kong Jockey Club's director of racing business and operations.

"We have had some great horses come out of the Sale in the past and hopefully a few will come out of this Sale and do really well for us, for Hong Kong and for our owners, so overall I would say this is a big success and we're very happy with the outcome."
