Creative Cause colt tops breeze up session

Four lots sell for six figures on day one of the Arqana Summer Sale on Wednesday

A colt by the Airdrie Stud-based sire Creative Cause (Giant's Causeway) topped the breeze up session of the Arqana Summer Sale in Deauville on Wednesday when bought by Mandore Agency, Brogi and Bernereau for €100,000.

Offered by Mocklershill, the colt is the first foal out of winning mare Fight With Pride (Proud Citizen) and he was bought for US$16,000 at last year's Keeneland September Yearling Sale by Nelson Eddy Bloodstock.

The colt was one of four lots to sell for €100,000 or more on the day with the other six figure lots all being part of the Store section. Overall on Wednesday, 169 of the 231 lots offered were sold for a clearance rate of 73 per cent. The aggregate finished at €3,517,500 while the median was €14,000 and the average for the day was €20,814.
