Gold Coast graduates dead-heat in Tasmanian Millions event.
Graduates from the local sale dominated the field for Sunday's Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic, but it was a couple of youngsters bought out of the Gold Coast who fought out a thrilling edition of the $75,000 event.
Local filly Jaguar Stone, who is prepared by Adam Trinder, and the Shane Nichols-trained Blonde Venture could not be split in the 1200-metre event.
After a fine front-running ride from Lachlan Niendorf, Blonde Venture looked to have the race won at the 150m before Jaguar Stone, the Harry Coffey-ridden $1.50 favourite who wobbled on the home turn, launched late to hit the line locked together.
One length away in third spot in the eight-horse race was Vokes, an $18,000 buy from last year's Tasmanian Yearling Sale.
Blonde Venture was the most expensive horse in the race, a $200,000 buy at last year's January Sale, while Jaguar Stone cost $28,000 at the National Yearling Sale.
Jaguar Stone is a daughter of emerging stallion Spieth from the Tale Of The Cat mare Leopard Skin, who is out of the former Doveton Stakes winner La Chasseuse.
Blonde Venture is a daughter of Capitalist out of the Redoute's Choice mare Blonde Intuition, who is a three-quarter sister to Not A Single Doubt.
The Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic precedes the 2022 Tasmaina Magic Millions Yearling Sale, which will be held on Monday in Launceston.
