Tattersalls has appointed Ben Chan as their representative for South East Asia. His role will be focused on promoting Tattersalls sales in Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore.

Now based in Newmarket, Chan has previously worked for the Hong Kong Jockey Club, working for 19 years as a TV reporter and analysis on Raceday broadcasts from Sha Tin and Happy Valley racecourses and currently is also a contributor to the Chinese language Hong Kong racing publication Hong Kong Daily News.

"There have been so many top Hong Kong horses bought from Tattersalls over the years and I am enormously looking forward to promoting Tattersalls sales not only to owners and trainers in Hong Kong, but also to buyers in Macau and Singapore," said Chan.

"Tattersalls is widely regarded as the European market - leader with a reputation for outstanding customer service and I am thrilled to be joining the Tattersalls team in this new role."

Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony commented: "Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore have always been important markets for Tattersalls and Ben Chan is a great addition to our roster of overseas representatives. Well known and respected in the Hong Kong racing industry, Ben brings a wealth of experience to the role and his knowledge and extensive contacts in Hong Kong and the wider South East Asia region will be invaluable as we look to promote all Tattersalls sales to as wide an international audience as possible."
