Gold Yearling Sale catalogue online

224 yearlings set to be offered next month at Oaklands

The catalogue for the 2022 Inglis Gold Yearling Sale is now available online. A total of 224 yearlings have been catalogued for this year's sale which will be held at Oaklands on Thursday April 21, a new sale date to ensure clients can enjoy the Anzac Day long weekend. Of those, 130 or 58% are Super Vobis nominated. 

Leading first season sire Russian Revolution (Snitzel), Darley shuttler Street Boss (Street Cry), Newgate Farm's Capitalist (Written Tycoon) and Deep Field (Northern Meteor), Brazen Beau (I Am Invincible), Tivaci (High Chaparral), Swettenham shuttler Toronado (High Chaparral), Xtravagant (Pentire), Arrowfield Stud's young sires Dundeel (High Chaparral) and shuttler Shalaa (Invincible Spirit) all have yearlings catalogued. 

There are also offerings by a strong crop of first season sires including The Autumn Sun (Redoute's Choice), Trapeze Artist (Snitzel), Written By (Written Tycoon), Grunt (O'Reilly), Lean Mean Machine (Zoustar), Sioux Nation (Scat Daddy), Showtime (Snitzel) and National Defense (Invincible Spirit).

Graduates of the sale in recent years have included Group 1 winners Savatoxl (Kuroshio) (cost $8000, so far won $914,000), Lunar Fox (Foxwedge) (cost $40,000 and returned $1.1m to date) and Media Award (Shamus Award)(cost $5000 and returned $350,000) as well as Mahamedeis (Magnus) (cost $24,000, won $1.2m), Lyuba (Turffontein) (cost $2000, won $450,000), Desert Lashes (Reward For Effort) (cost $6000, won $450,000), Barry The Baptist (Hard Spun) (cost $16,000 and won $480,000), Gold Fields (Churchill Downs) (cost $42,000, won $775,000) who have all proved successful on the racetrack.

"The Gold Sale continues to go from strength to strength and the recent racetrack successes by the likes of especially Savatoxl and Media Award and Lunar Fox, who have all won Group 1 races in the past couple of seasons,'' Inglis' Victorian Bloodstock Manager James Price said.

"The yearling market has been very strong to date this year and the Gold Sale provides buyers with an opportunity to secure some quality stock at prices that aren't out of reach for most.
"With so many of these yearlings also Super Vobis nominated and prize money levels so strong in Victorian and all around Australia at the moment, I strongly urge participants to take a close look at the Gold catalogue to source their next stable stars.''
