A record-breaking 2022 yearling sale season has Inglis buoyant ahead of the 2023 version, entries for which are now open.

The leading sale house on Monday announced that entries were now being taken for its five-sale yearling circuit that starts with the Classic Sale in Sydney in early February and concludes with the Gold Sale in Victoria in mid-May.

This year Inglis yearling sales turned over more than $320 million with yearlings selling at an average of $151,534 with Classic, Premier and Easter all returning gross figures of at least 13 percent more than the previous year.

Inglis Bloodstock chief executive Sebastian Hutch said the 2022 season results were outstanding and preparations were already well underway to build on the great results next year.

"We pride ourselves on getting the biggest and best buying bench to each of our sales and that was evident this year, with extraordinary buyer statistics across each of the Classic, Premier, Easter, Gold and HTBA Yearling Sales," Hutch said.

"We work all year round on developing buyers domestically and internationally.

"A number of our team already have made trips internationally to canvass buyers for the 2023 series and with an extensive schedule of international trips scheduled for the balance of the year, as well as our comprehensive work domestically, no stone will be left unturned in our efforts to deliver the best results for vendors.

"Our bloodstock team will inspect more than 4000 horses over the next couple of months all around Australia and New Zealand where we will work with the vendors to identify the best sale to target for their yearlings to achieve the best results for them and their clients.

"We are continually grateful for the ongoing support we receive from breeders and vendors and we can't wait to deal with them again as we strive to achieve more fantastic results in 2023."

Next year's Classic Sale will run from February 12-14 at the Riverside Complex at Warwick Farm, followed by Melbourne's Premier Sale from March 5-7 with the jewel in the Inglis crown – Easter – to be held on April 3 and 4 at Riverside.

The Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders' Association will be held on Sunday, April 23, three weeks before the Gold Sale in Melbourne.

Entries for this year's Inglis Yearling Sale Series close on Friday, August 12.
