When the Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale concluded on Tuesday 84 per cent of the 285 yearlings offered during the three day sale sold for €51,071,000. This figure was up 18 per cent on the record 2019 sale while the average increased 12 per cent on that sale to €210,025.

Ecurie des Monceaux, who sold three of the four million dollar yearlings at the sale, finished as the leading vendor with the 32 yearlings they sold making €12,680,000.

Godolphin was the sale's leading buyer having spent €5,550,000 on six yearlings while Michel Zerolo bought ten lots for €3,095,000.

Darley's Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) was the sale's leading vendor having had four lots sell at an average of €868,750 while Siyouni (Pivotal), who had two million dollar lots, had 17 lots sell at an average of €462,941.

"With such great results, we are more than satisfied that the yearling sales season is off to a great start," said Arqana President Eric Hoyeau.

"We are extremely grateful to our vendors for entrusting us with yearlings of this quality and for adapting to the new three-day format. The entire catalogue was of exceptional quality and all the yearlings entered are qualified for the Arqana Series, which will be held for the first time next year.

"The return to normal compared to the last two years has allowed us to organise events that enable us to welcome our clients, who came from Japan, the United States, Europe, the Gulf, Australia, etc., and we thank them for having attended. It was a real pleasure to see everyone in Deauville and we look forward to seeing you at the beginning of September."
