Husson Filly Out Of The Box

The win by Husson filly Go Again at Sandown on Wednesday was a significant victory for a major racing and breeding partnership.

The filly is the first winner for leading Japanese owner and breeder Katsumi Yoshida since he entered into a relationship with Victorian owner Phil Sly through gun filly Mosheen.

Go Again is trained by John Sadler and was rated a Golden Slipper chance after her debut win on Wednesday.

“Phil owns her in partnership with Mr Yoshida in Japan and I have to thank him for that," Sadler said.

"To be training for someone like that is quite a thrill for our stable and it’s only because of Phil Sly that we were introduced to him,” Sadler said.

Go Again smashed the 900m track record in an impressive debut victory.

Sly owned four-time G1 winning filly Mosheen when she finished runner-up behind Sepoy in the 2011 Golden Slipper and later sold a 50 percent share to Yoshida.

Mosheen has now gone to Japan for breeding.

Sly said the inspiration behind the filly’s name came from continually telling Malua racing manager Troy Corstens to “go again” when bidding on the filly.

“We’ve got a really nice bunch of two-year-olds this year thanks to Troy who does the hard work of selecting them and Phil does the easy job of just throwing the money across the table,” Sadler said.

“She’s a really nice filly and I like her a lot.

“There’s still good improvement in her. She’s a big strong filly so we may go to Sydney and have a crack at a lead up to the Golden Slipper.”

The race time of 50.12 seconds shaved more than a second off Donna Madeira’s 900m track record set earlier this season.
