Pinny Tiger Off For Well Deserved Break After Win In Narrogin Cup

Punters were confident that Pinny Tiger would get the job done in the 2024 TABtouch Narrogin Pacing Cup (2662m) on Saturday, May 11, but it was an exciting race to the line with Feeling Aces going down by just a head at $101 odds.

Although the win wasn't a total surprise for trainer Michael Brennan, he did confirm that you can never go into these races completely confident because anything can happen.

With his great bunch of owners on course, there would have been quite the celebration on course, especially with one of the owners, Brian White, there to celebrate his birthday, and what better way than with the $35,000 Narrogin Pacing Cup.

The six-year-old gelding by Mach Three CA has always shown he's had plenty of ability, but its undeniable that this preparation he has stepped up a level, showing he's a horse to follow in the future as we head into the WA Pacing Cup later in the year.

Pinny Tiger gets his shoes off tomorrow and heads to the paddock for a well earned four to six weeks rest before resuming his cups campaign, where Brennan is confident he will take the next level again.

"He's had a good bit of hard racing, and it just works out well for him to have a break now, so he gets a good preparation going into the Pacing Cup,

"He's just developed, and he's got stronger, and he's got more mature, and it seems the longer he's got into this prep, the better he's gone,

"But you'd be disappointed if he didn't step up to another level next time."

We should expect to see Pinny Tiger back for his next campaign in four/five months' time.

Pinny Tiger has had just the nine starts this preparation, but its been an exciting time for his connections, with a win on return back in early February, a third placing in the Pinjarra Cup in March, runner-up in the Gr3 Bunbury Cup just over three weeks, a win in the Nullarbor Consolation and just one week later backing up to run third in the Gr1 Fremantle Cup.

Brennan currently has 11 in work, with Zara Tindell now back in work as well as a couple of nice two-year-olds that will make their trial debuts in around eight weeks' time.

It's an exciting week for the Brennan camp with the Narrogin Cup heading home with them, as well as an exciting new addition being welcomed to the world on Friday with Mouses partner Catherine due to give birth with their latest edition this week.

Good luck Mouse and Catherine and congratulations.
