This time Lau will be banking on the skills of Classic winning Irish jockey Jamie Spencer, a former Champion Flat Racing Jockey in both Ireland and the UK.

At his latest run Sacred Capital was sent out a $3.6 favorite under Joao Moreira in the Group 3 January Cup over 1800 metres at Happy Valley a fortnight back, running out a creditable third only beaten one and three quarters of a length behind Valley specialist Doctor Geoff and Harmony Victory.

"The owners were keen to get Jamie Spencer to fly in for the day to ride him, fortunately that has worked out for us." Joe Lau said.

"The horse traveled back very well on the barge after his last run and he has pleased me at home since then.  He has now arrived back safely again in Hong Kong for Monday's race."

"He is pretty much meeting the same horses again Doctor Geoff and Harmony Victory from his last run and Exultant and Time Warp who finished in front of him in the Sa Sa Ladies Purse.

"But he deserves his chance again with the lightweight of 114 pounds on his back, and the bigger track at Sha Tin will be more suitable for him."

Sacred Capital  has won six races in Macau and placed on another three occasions from twelve runs in the enclave.  His major wins include the Group 1 SJM Derby and Macau Gold Cup also a Group 1, and the MJC 30th Anniversary Cup.

The five year old looked sharp in his final hit out last Friday in an easy gallop in preparation for Monday's race.
