Ryan Moore Starts Japan Stint

Ryan Moore will follow up his al-conquering Melbourne spring carnival with a short term riding stint in Japan.

Moore has been granted a riding licence by the Japan Racing Association from this weekend through to December 21.

Moore has been acclaimed as the best jockey in the world following his brilliant rides to win the Cox Plate on Adelaide and the Melbourne Cup on Protectionist at the Melbourne carnival.

Moore will be making a popular return to Japan after his successful stint in that country last year when he won three big-including the Japan Cup on on Gentildonna.

More has won 19 Group One races in eight different countries on four continents in the past 12 months.

Moore’s stint in Japan will see him riding primarily ride for leading owner Kazuko Yoshida and trainer Noriyuki Hori.

The Japan Cup on November 30 is set to feature at least two international runners with the connections of the Jim Bolger-trained Trading Leather and Canada's Up With The Birds accepting invitations.
