JRA Issues Licences To Foreign Jockeys

The Japan Racing Association has granted short-term licenses to four foreign jockeys.

France-based Belgian jockey Gregory Benoist has received a short-term license effective from January 4 to February 3.

He will be primarily riding for host trainer Kazuo Fujisawa, from the JRA Miho Training Centre, and owner Hidetoshi Yamamoto.

Ireland’s Fran Berry has received a license effective from January 4 to February 24. He will be primarily riding for owner Kazuko Yoshida and Miho trainer Noriyuki Hori.

Italian jockey Cristian Demuro, a younger brother of Mirco Demuro, has been licensed from January 4 to March 1. He will be primarily ride for host trainer Katsuhiko Sumii, from the JRA Ritto Training Center, and owner Chizu Yoshida.

Dario Vargiu, also from Italy, has received his license from January 4 to January 25.

He will be primarily riding for owner Masashi Yoshida and Ritto trainer Mitsumasa Nakauchida.
