The 3YO son of Heart’s Cry was in front at the finish by 2.5 lengths with Sole Impact finishing second and Sede Brillantes another 1.25 lengths back in third. Second choice Albert, saddled with the top weight of 58.5kg, finished fourth with Curren Mirotic fifth.

Suave Richard was racing under Mirco Demuro for the first time, at the distance for the first time, and he was competing against older horses for the first time.

He was also racing for the first time in over five months after his second in the Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby).

Suave Richard gave both Demuro and trainer Yasushi Shono their first wins in the race.

Suave Richard, out of the US-bred mare Pirramimma, was bred at Northern Farm and is owned by NICKS. He now has three wins and three seconds from his seven starts.

KITASAN BLACK - Tenno Sho Autumn: Pouring rain and soft ground did not hinder the outstanding performance of Kitasan Black as the multiple G1 winner added his sixth victory at the highest level to his stellar record.

The Black Tide entire became the fifth horse in JRA history to capture both the Tenno Sho (Spring) and (Autumn) in the same year, and the second to score three Tenno Sho titles overall.

Kitasan Black, who has won 11 of his 18 starts, is headed for a defence of his Japan Cup title and is scheduled to conclude his racing career with his last start in the year-end Arima Kinen.

Trainer Hisashi Shimizu and jockey Yutaka Take celebrated another G1 success. It is the sixth G1 title for Shimizu and 74 for champion jockey Take. Take has now claimed the Tenno Sho double in the same year three times.

The 5YO Kitasan Black is by Black Tide from Sugar Heart (Sakura Bakushin O) and was bred by Yanagawa Bokujo.

KISEKI – Kikuka Sho: Race favorite Kiseki captured this year’s G1 Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger), the last leg of the Triple Crown, with a powerful finish in soft going to register his first graded race title.

Winning his first and only start as a two-year-old, the Rulership colt kicked off this season with a fifth and two thirds, which included the G3 Mainichi Hai, and won two allowance races before coming in second behind Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby) winner Rey de Oro in the Kobe Shimbun Hai.

This win marked trainer Katsuhiko Sumii’s 24th JRA G1 win and his third Kikuka Sho title which he claimed with Delta Blues in 2004 and Epiphaneia in 2013.

Jockey Mirco Demuro claimed his 22nd JRA G1 victory.

Kiseki became the first G1 winner for his sire Rulership (King Kamehameha) who retired for stud in 2013.

He was bred from the Deep Impact mare Blitz Finale by Shimokobe Farm and has now won four of his eight starts.

DEIRDRE - Shuka Sho: The last leg of the three-year-old fillies’ Triple Crown was an open affair and did not include the Oaks winner.

A close contest resulted in third favorite Deirdre claiming her first G1 title and landing her third consecutive wins since August.

Her first G1 victory also was the first JRA G1 victory for her sire Harbinger.

Deirdre broke her maiden at her third career start and qualified for the Oka Sho (Japanese 1000 Guineas) after a runner-up effort in the Anemone Stakes.

She finished sixth in her G1 debut and came off another win in the Yaguruma Sho (allowance race) for the Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks) where she finished fourth.

Following a break she won against a mixed field of older runners in the HTB Sho (allowance) and landed her first grade-race victory in the Shion Stakes.

Her trainer Mitsuru Hashida captured his first G1 win in 10 years, the last being the 2007 Takamatsunomiya Kinen with Suzuka Phoenix—and 11th JRA G1 race overall.

Christophe Lemaire won his 14th G1 title following the Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby) with Rey de Oro.
