Hugh Bowman will ride Cheval Grande in today's Japan Cup and his owner Sasaki was formerly a part owner of Admire Deus.

Everyone is Japan is very sad to learn of the death of Admire Deus so Bowman is hoping he can produce a result for his owner that may bring some consolation.

Bowman has ridden before in Japan so he knows the track and should be able to have some options coming out of Gate 1. Of course everyone including our colleague from Peruvian TC want to know all about Winx and it is great to see how Bowman's face lights up when he talks of the mare.

But the business in hand today is the Japan Cup. The market has still got Kitasan Black on top at 2.2, Satono Crown 5.4, Soul Stirring is on 8.4, Makahiki 13.88 and Cheval Grande 16.9.

The Internationals have Guignol on 56.88, Idaho 74.9, Iquitos 100.5 and Boom Time 251.7.

The weather is fine and the track as usual fast.
