Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Special Weight A / KRW 60 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Juvenile maidens in the opener with seven of the ten racing for the first time. We'll put experience on top though and (4) GEOLJAK SKY, who debuted on August 12th, running 4th of eleven over 1000M (that race's winner, Blue Lemon is scheduled to have been in action on Saturday). She should have derived benefit from the experience and with some natural improvement, is the one to beat. (2) RAON TIMOTH won his trial in good order settling handy and going clear, beating a couple of today's rivals in a fair time. He'll probably start as favourite. (9) SAHARAMOND trialled up 2nd behind Raon Timoth, two-and-a-half lengths in arrears but showed enough to suggest he can go well first-up. (3) MIGHTY CAP was just a neck behind in 4th and she too can be considered. Returning to the experienced ones, (5) ILINX has raced twice, improving in his second outing, and can continue to make progress here.

Selections (4) Geoljak Sky (2) Raon Timoth (9) Sharamond (3) Mighty Cap

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

Maiden fillies and a couple of standouts. (4) HAENGBOK YEOWANG has raced eleven times without breaking through but enters with her recent form reading well including a 2nd and a 3rd from her latest two, both at this distance. Her times haven't been quick, but she might not need to be too quick here and from a good gate, can sit off the speed and then grind away in the straight. The main danger is (10) ARCH CLASS. She has raced just twice, improving to 2nd in the most recent on August 26th when handy throughout. She may have more potential for improvement than Haengbok Yeowang and while she has to contend with the wide draw, can go one better. (2) RAON SPIKE raced twice last year, finishing 3rd on debut. She returns here after forty-nine weeks out, but trialled fairly last month and this is a nice first-up assignment. (1) YEJIMONG and (9) MO CHUISLE others in the placing frame.

Selections (4) Haengbok Yeowang (10) Arch Class (2) Raon Spike (1) Yejimong

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

(1) HAENGUN BARAM has hinted at ability across five starts to date. Her best was a runner-up finished back in April, but she comes in following a useful 4th place at 1300M on August 27th when, as is her style, she went right back, before running on. The step up to 1400M can suit, and she has as good a chance as any here. (2) SAVANA CHARLIE is the main danger. He is yet to finish in the top-two but has been in the top-five on nine out of ten starts (including a remarkable seven 4th place finishes). From a good draw, he should be on pace and can be in this a long way. (8) SAEROUN BITKKAL beat Savana Charlie as the pair ran 2nd and (where else?) 4th at this distance on August 20th. He can go close again. (6) FIRST CHOUX and (7) HEART SIGNAL others in the placing hunt.

Selections (1) Haengun Baram (2) Savana Charlie (8) Saeroun Bitkkal (6) First Choux

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

(9) WITH STAR comes in having run 3rd and 4th in her latest two at 1400M and a mile, beating a few of these in the process. She can settle behind the speed here and should prove too strong at the business end of the race. (4) WISE BOY returns to action for the first time since March. He has a runner-up finish to his name over this distance and looked well when leading an August trial, ultimately finishing 2nd in a quick time. He will need this but can be close first-up. (8) FLYING AARON was 6th to With Star's 4th when they raced one another at a mile on August 25th. Franco climbs on here and he can go closer. (3) LUCKY BRAND and (2) AQUARIUS are among plenty of others with minor money claims.

Selections (9) With Star (4) Wise Boy (8) Flying Aaron (3) Lucky Brand

Seoul Race 4: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

(5) THEME TANSAENG has steadily improved across six starts so far culminating in a 4th and a 3rd from his latest two over 1200M and 1400M. In those two, he has raced on or close to the pace and similar tactics can be expected here. He is the one to beat. (11) BANFF has shown promise across five starts so far with the best being a runner-up finish over 1200M in March. He has consistently posted good times at the shorter distance and has a smart finish on him so the wide draw shouldn't be a problem and he can challenge late. (1) BRIGHT WINNER has two 4th places among four outings. She draws nicely here and will probably be on the early pace with prospects to stay in it a long way. (4) GREEN BULPAE and (10) GEOMOON among others with placing chances.

Selections (5) Theme Tansaeng (11) Banff (1) Bright Winner (4) Green Bulpae

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

Fillies only in this maiden and it's hard to go past (1) POCKET MILLION. She ran 4th on debut in July over 1000M and then followed up by beating some of these on her way to 3rd place over 1200M on August 20th. She raced on pace both times so draws very nicely to get the lead again and she will take some beating. (9) QUEEN AND SERVE will be the second pick for most. She ran 3rd at start number two before finishing 4th behind Pocket Million in that August 20th race. She was only a head in arrears so while she draws wide and Pocket Million appears to have more potential for immediate improvement, she can be taken seriously. (2) DAY BY DAY has shown signs of figuring things out in her latest couple and can go close. (4) YONGBI KHAN and (3) FIRST MENI the other minor money hopes.

Selections (1) Pocket Million (9) Queen And Serve (2) Day By Day (4) Yongbi Khan

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(5) PURPLE WINK will be a warm favourite. He got his maiden win in a relatively slow race over 1200M two starts back but then ran a very close 2nd in a much quicker time on his first try at this class, again at 1200M, on August 20th. He likes to settle back and run on and while he does come up 2.5kg in the weights, he may well prove too strong. (1) SEVEN BLADE comes up in class having fully justified favourite status to hey her maiden win at start number three over this distance on August 5th. This is harder but she draws well, comes down in the weights, and she can measure up. (6) JAEWOO SIDAE is yet to win in thirteen starts but has seven to-four finishes and should be there or thereabouts again. (10) HWANGOO GANGJA and (2) HUMMING BIRD among others who could enter the calculations.

Selections (5) Purple Wink (1) Seven Blade (6) Jaewoo Sidae (10) Hwangoo Gangja

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(6) MAGARITA was a super winner two starts back making all and seemed poised to repeat when leading on her first try at this class at the end of July. She stalled somewhat in the straight, ultimately finishing 5th but she looks to have plenty of talent and is well worth another chance here. (5) YEONGGWANGUI GLORY ran out a comfortable winner on debut over 1000M on August 11th. He comes up in class and in distance but is down slightly in the weights and with some natural improvement, can measure up in this company. (10) DOCTOR KANE is also up in class following a maiden win, in her case at start number three on August 18th when leading all the way around over this distance. She may need a touch of luck from the wide gate but if she can get to a forward position, she is not without claims. (8) YONGSAN KEUNBYEUL is another up in class after a last start maiden win and along with (4) FLYING TOUCH is another who can be considered.

Selections (6) Magarita (5) Yeonggwangui Glory (10) Doctor Kane (8) Yongsan Keunbyeul

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(6) FORTUNA ran out an all the way winner on debut over 1000M on August 13th. He comes up in class and in distance here but is lightly weighted and a repeat is more than possible. (1) BULPAE BLADE won on debut back in March and has since run solidly enough for 6th and 2nd in two starts at this level, most recently at the end of June. He has had twelve weeks off since his last race and he carries his fair share of weight here, but he draws well and can be a danger. (5) CHEONGGYE GISANG comes in of a class and distance 3rd on Augst 20th when he led for most of the way around. He can be on or close to the pace again and can be in this a long way. The up in class pair of (4) PHOENIX CLASS and (2) YEOLJEONG ARGO are among others with at least placing chances.

Selections (6) Fortuna (1) Bulpae Blade (5) Cheonggye Gisang (4) Phoenix Class

Busan Race 4: Class 5 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(7) DOCTOR NEXT will be one of the shortest priced favourites of the day. He got his maiden win two starts back over a mile before stepping running a solid 3rd place at this class and distance on August 27th when racing handy throughout and beating some of today's rivals. He should win here. (10) SUSO POWER also comes in having beaten some of these on her latest appearance. That was on August 13th when she was an on-pace 3rd over a mile. She is yet to win in twenty-four attempts, but she carries a light weight again here and she can place. (3) YEOSU TORNADO was well back behind Doctor Next three weeks ago, but that was his first race since March. He has shown ability and should strip fitter for that run and improve. (5) DREAM RUN and (11) FIGHT FAMILY are others in the frame.

Selections (7) Doctor Next (10) Suso Power (3) Yeosu Tornado (5) Dream Run
Next Best 11, 8

Seoul Race 7: Class 5 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(1) GEUMA STEADY got promoted to this class with back-to-back runner-up finishes over 1200M and 1400M before making it three in a row when 2nd at this class over 1700M on August 27th when prominent throughout. He comes up 2kg in the weights, but the mile should suit, and he draws well to get on pace and potentially make all. (6) TOUCH CHARM similarly remains a maiden but has been getting closer, most recently with a 2nd place at this class over 1300M when she came from right off the pace. The step up in trip can be in her favour and she can go close again. (9) FUN CRAZY is one of only two who have tackled the distance before, running a fair 5th of ten a month ago. He can settle midfield and run into some money here. (4) DEVIL K and (7) ARGO MUJEOK others in the placing hunt.

Selections (1) Geuma Steady (6) Touch Charm (9) Fun Crazy (4) Devil K

Busan Race 5: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

A smart win over a mile at class 5 level earned (5) JANGSAN DEFI a shot in the final leg of the Triple Tiara at Seoul in July and while she finished down the field, she returned to Busan last month to run 4th over 1800M at this level having shown on pace for much of the way. She comes back down to one-turn racing today and she should be returning to winning ways. (3) HONOR LORD comes up in class following a front-running victory at this distance at the end of July. He comes down in weights and into a better gate and he can measure up in this company. (7) SEONGSIL STAR ran 3rd on his first try at this level over 1300M on July 30th, settling midfield and running on. He remains nicely weighted and can go close again. (4) LIGHT SABER and (2) PILGRIM others in the placing frame.

Selections (5) Jangsan Defi (3) Honor Lord (7) Seongsil Star (4) Light Saber

Seoul Race 8: Class Open (1800M) Special Weight B / Ilgan Sports Trophy / KRW 200 Million

This race is "Listed" but is only open to local breds rated no higher than 80. Having run 3rd in both the Korean Derby and the Minister's Cup, (4) NUT PLAY could be the one to beat. He tends to get a bit too far back, but he has a strong finish on him and today can be his day. (11) NAOL SNIPER also comes out of the Triple Crown where he was an excellent 2nd in the Derby before running midfield in the Minister's Cup. He has won at this distance already and while it won't be easy for him to get to his preferred forward position from a wide draw, he will be a big danger. Completing the set of leading contenders to come out of the Triple Crown is (3) DRAGON STAR, who was 3rd in the KRA Cup Mile and 5th in the Derby. Similar to Nut Play, he can get a long way back but has a fine finish on him and he should be a danger late on. Among the older horses, (10) YONGAM BOSS enters off back-to-back wins most recently over this distance at class 2 level on August 20th. He just gets in at the top rating limit and a hat-trick isn't impossible. (13) ULTRA GALAXY is another improver and while he is done no favours by the draw, he shouldn't be ruled out.

Selections (4) Nut Play (11) Naol Sniper (3) Dragon Star (10) Yongam Boss

Busan Race 6: Class 2 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

(5) HALLOWEEN PARTY has won his last three in fine style, most recently in one of the quickest times ever at the track for the 1200M on September 1st. He comes up in class here but is down in the weights, is well drawn, and is hard to oppose again. (8) WINNING DANCER is also up in class, in his case following a good win in a quick race at this distance in July when settling handy and finishing strongly. A similar performance will see him measuring up at this level. (3) CHOEGANG SSONSAL is a class and distance winner and while he has his fair share of weight to carry, he can always be dangerous. (2) CATCH THE VICTORY races for the first time since June but looked well when winning a trial two weeks ago and can be competitive first up. (9) JATNAMUGIL the other logical placing chance.

Selections (5) Halloween Party (8) Winning Dancer (3) Choegang Ssonsal (2) Catch The Victory

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Tricky race. (3) GIMCHEON YEONGUNG was a winner at this class over 1600M on August 13th, making all. He comes up 3kg in the weights as a result but is nicely drawn to lead again and a repeat isn't impossible. (6) EUNHYE RECORD is perhaps the main danger. He enters having run a very close 3rd in a quick race at this class and distance on July 23rd when racing handy throughout. He has won at 1700M at class 5 level under a light weight can go close here. (8) GOMANARU comes up in class having won over this trip back in June. He has had a couple of months off so comes in fresh and under a light weight, can be competitive. (5) OKCHEON CHOEGANG and the returning (1) ARGO RICH are among plenty of others who merit consideration.

Selections (3) Gimcheon Yeongung (6) Eunhye Record (8) Gomanaru (5) Okcheon Choegang

Seoul Race 10: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Another competitive race. (2) GEOLJAK DREAM doesn't win out of turn but enters in good form including a last start 3rd at this class and over 1400M when leading for much of the way around. She has the best start among these and draws nicely to get an easy lead which she may not relinquish. (8) FINE CAMP is up in class and marginally back in distance having won in a quick time at 1300M on August 13th. She can settle back and run on, and she can be a danger at the business end of the race. (4) ORCHID VALLEY also comes up in class following an easy score last time out at 1300M and should fit in at this level. (7) POWERFUL SOCKS needs a line drawn through his latest but has placed at this class and shouldn't be far away. (5) HERO SARANG another up in class who could be competitive.

Selections (2) Geoljak Dream (8) Fine Camp (4) Orchid Valley (7) Powerful Socks

Seoul Race 11: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(3) GEUMBITMA comes in having won three in a row, most recently at this class and distance on August 20th when as is his style, he settled back and ran on. He comes up a full 4kg in the weights but has every chance of making it four here. (4) JEDI showed signs of a return to form when 2nd over 1200M on July 22nd. She has the fastest time of any of these for the distance and coming from off the pace, she can go close again. (10) HANGANG BOSS comes back up in class having won at this distance on August 20th. He comes down in the weights and his closing style means the wide draw shouldn't be a problem. (7) JANGBI MUJIGAE is seeking a hat-trick of wins and while also up in class, can be dangerous. (5) COWBOY KING another in the hunt in a finale with plenty of depth.

Selections (3) Geumbitma (4) Jedi (10) Hangang Boss (7) Jangbi Mujigae
