Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Special Weight A / KRW 60 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Juvenile maidens in the opener with all twelve racing for the first time so it's to the trail videos that we head. Conveniently, three of them went through the same trial and even more conveniently, one caught the eye. (10) STARTER stalked the leader before breezing by in the straight and easing away under a hold in a quick time. If she brings that form to the races, she will win. (6) GLOBAL CODIE led his heat a long way ultimately crossing the line in 2nd. He draws centrally and should be on pace again and in this a long way. (5) CUPID MORNING was 3rd in the same heat with Starter, albeit almost nine-lengths in arrears. Nevertheless, it wasn't a bad trial, and he looks a placing chance here. (3) SPARK THUNDER stumbled at the start of heat, giving himself plenty to do, but he finished off well enough to suggest that with a clean getaway, he can make an impression. (2) BOLLIN another to keep safe.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1000M) Special Weight A / KRW 60 Million

The second division of the juvenile maiden and again all twelve race for the first time. (7) GIANT M went through two trials, improving significantly in the second of them (it was a voluntary trial so be aware it may not feature in all race cards), running handy and crossing the line 1st, stopping the clock in 1:02.3 on September 8th. That's the quickest time any of these posted and he looks a good chance first-up. (10) WORLD SHANNONS was also a trial winner, beginning well and sitting on pace and responding well when asked for an effort. Moon Se-young's presence will tempt plenty. (9) ROYAL BEST and (2) FLYING KING came home 2nd and 3rd respectively in their heat in fair times and both can be considered here. (5) FRESH MAN another who hinted at ability.

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 40 Million

Juvenile maidens although this time all nine have raced before although only four at his distance. One of those is (4) SINUI UNMYEONG who was a much-improved 4th when stepped up to this trip on September 3rd, sitting close throughout and beating a couple of today's rivals in a decent time. He should have benefitted from that experience and has every chance today. (2) MORNING BOLD's three starts have all come at 1000M, but he has set very consistent times and has a 2nd and a 3rd on his record. That means any top-three finish will give him a rating and from a nice draw, it could well be a win. (6) CHAMJOEUN INYEON too steps up in distance for the first time following a 4th and a 6th in good times over 1000M. She should be in the mix here. (1) STORM BREAKER and (9) FINAL GO others with the potential to improve.

Selections (4) Sinui Unmyeong (2) Morning Bold (6) Chamjoeun Inyeon (1) Storm Breaker

Seoul Race 4: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

A standard maiden here and a couple look ready to win. (8) RAON AIR FORCE did nothing in his first few starts but has significantly improved in his latest two, posting a 3rd and a 2nd, both at this trop and both times racing on pace. He can be on the speed here and can go one better. (10) POWERFUL VISION has improved across three starts so far, culminating in a 3rd place finish over 1300M on August 18th when she led for much of the way around. She may need a touch of luck at the start from the wide gate, but if she can get forward again, she has claims. (7) SAEBYEOK BULBIT has five top-four finishes from seven prior outings, generally sitting behind the pace or in midfield and running on. She can be close her too. (6) WINNER DRAGON and (5) TAPYEONGMU others to keep safe.

Selections (8) Raon Air Force (10) Powerful Vision (7) Saebyeok Bulbit (6) Winner Dragon

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(2) WONDERFUL PAGO made all at start number three over 1200M on September 10th to win comfortably in a good time. She comes up in class and slightly in trip here, but she draws well, is nicely weighted, and she can win again. The main danger, and probable betting favourite, is (1) GEOSEN BANGYEOK. A class 6 winner at 1200M on his second start, he was the longest but one shot on the board in the Rookie Stakes on August 27th and he overcame both expectations and the widest gate to run on well for 5th. He comes into a much better gate, the additional half furlong can suit, and he has solid claims. The much more experienced (5) BARAMSAL took eighteen goes to get her maiden win but has shown she can be competitive at this level with a close 4th at this distance in an all-filly race on September 3rd. She can go close again. (7) GOOD CABO and (9) DAEBAK STAR among others in the frame.

Selections (2) Wonderful Pago (1) Geosen Bangyeok (5) Baramsal (7) Good Cabo

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(10) FLYING STAR will be a warm favourite here. A winner on debut in June, she followed it up with a 2nd place at this class over 1200M in July and then ran 4th (behind Lala K in the Rookie Stakes. She returns to shallower waters here and should have too much. There is a slightly unknown challenge to deal with though. (1) J S ROAD won on debut with dismissive ease, leading all the way to win by six-lengths in a fair time over 1200M. He is up in class here but down slightly in the weights and draws very nicely to get a soft lead again. With some natural improvement, he can give the favourite problems. (7) ONE SPEAR got his maiden win at the thirteenth time of asking at the start of September and while up in class here, can be competitive. (4) CHADOL RUN comes up in the weights from her latest outings but has the fastest time of any of these who have previously tackled the 1300M and shouldn't be dismissed. (9) SEONGEUN CROWN another in the minor money hunt.

Selections (10) Flying Star (1) J S Road (7) One Spear (4) Chadol Run

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(1) DALBITJOGAKSA led all the way to won on debut over 1000M in July and then looked set to do the same in the Rookie Stakes at the end of August only to be denied by Lala K's run from the clouds. She foregoes a rematch in tomorrow's Munhwa Ilbo Trophy in order to run here and she should be too good. (6) RAON EMPIRE never really got into the race when favourite at class and distance on August 12th. She has run good times for this distance though and a return to form today can't be ruled out. (11) BULGOM MADRE has finished no worse than 4th in five outings to date and was most recently 3rd at this class over 1200M when coming from well off the pace. Her running style means the wide draw shouldn't be a problem. (9) DALGEUM and (5) SEOUL CROWN, the latter at probable big odds but coming down in weight with an apprentice claim and capable of running very well on his day, are others to consider.

Selections (1) Dalbitjogaksa (6) Raon Empire (11) Bulgom Madre (9) Dalgeum

Seoul Race 8: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

Small field here and (2) KING GO TAEYANG is the one to beat. He has a 2nd and 3rd to his name at this distance, as well as the fastest time among these by a big margin over this distance. In this company he can be expected to be on pace from the start and will be hard to get past. (3) SMART SOCKS led for much of the way around over 1300M before ultimately finishing in midfield. She had a 3rd and a 2nd from her two starts prior to that and that's enough to put her in the mix here. (1) SINUI HAMSEONG enters off solid if very unspectacular outings after a good runner-finish on debut. Solid and unspectacular will probably be sufficient to find the money here. The form, such that there is, drops off significantly after those three with (7) THUNDER GALLOPER and (6) TES MARY perhaps the most likely to snatch some 4th or 5th prize money.

Selections (2) King Go Taeyang (3) Smart Socks (1) Sinui Hamseong (7) Thunder Galloper

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(11) FIRE POWER is a winner of three from seven most recently two starts back at class 4 level when on pace throughout and winning well at this distance. He only managed a 5th place on his first try at this class but there still looks to be scope form more improvement and while the draw isn't ideal, he has a light weight and can win. The main danger is (1) WINNER BLUE. The six-year-old may not win out of turn but he rarely runs a bad race and enters off four consecutive placings, all at this class at a mile and 1800M. He is up in the weights today, but that's balanced by a good draw, and he has every chance. (9) GLOBAL YEONGUNG beat Fire Power when the pair ran 4th and 5th at class and distance on September 33rd and under the same weight warrants respect here. (5) TITAN SOCKS and (2) TAURUS QUEEN among others in the placing hunt.

Selections (11) Fire Power (1) Winner Blue (9) Global Yeongung (5) Titan Socks

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(2) WOLF PLAY should return to the winner's circle here. On his only previous try at the mile, he posted the joint-quickest time of any of these on his way to 2nd place and followed it up with 3rd when dropped back to 1200M. From a good draw he can be expected to be on the pace here and should prove difficult to beat. (10) BAEDARI WANGJA won three consecutive races between April and June to come rapidly up two classes. Since getting to class 3 he has a 3rd and a 4th to his name – the 3rd being over this distance behind Wolf Play on July 23rd – and while he has the challenge of the outside gate, he can go close again. (3) SPO BLADE comes up in class following a win at 1400 on August 13th when settling midfield and running on. He is down significantly in the weights and can measure up here. Another up in class pair (7) HAPPY SOCKS and (1) OKRYONG can also be considered for the minors.

Selections (2) Wolf Play (10) Baedari Wangja (3) Spo Blade (7) Happy Socks
