Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 60 Million

Juvenile maidens with seven of the eleven racing for the first time. There were some good trial performances, but we'll stick with experience and (8) UMAPOY, who after winning a trial ran a good 2nd on debut over 1000M on September 16th. He was doing his best work late, posting a fast final furlong and the step up to 1200M should suit. (1) GEUMA MOMENTOUS took three trials to qualify but once he got it right, he looked very good, cruising away from the rest of his heat to stop the clock in a quick time. He draws nicely and a bold showing first-up looks likely. (10) BELOTERO and (2) THE SUN FIGHTER trialled up together, crossing the line in 2nd and 3rd in decent times. Both can be considered here. (5) CITY KING another to keep safe on debut having hinted at ability in his trial.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 40 Million

Maiden juvenile fillies. Having run 5th on debut, (4) EXCELLENT MATTA was sent off as favourite for her second start over 1000M on September 9th when she showed on pace but ultimately had to settle for 2nd. In this company she will be on the speed again, the additional furlong should pose no problem, and she can make it third time lucky. (9) HAPPY ICTUS could pose a danger. She already has experience of the 1200M having run 3rd over it in a good time on September 10th when handy throughout. That followed a 4th place on debut, and she should be close. (2) MIGHTY CAP was a solid 4th on debut over 1000M on September 17th. From a good gate, she should be on pace and like many of these can have derived benefit from her first run. (6) LOVE MUNMAK, 5th behind Happy Ictus last time, and (8) MAGIC PLEASURE are other potential improvers.

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

Two standouts here and they have both been back to trial since their respective latest outings. (7) JANGHEUNG CLASS has a 2nd place to his name and while he got sent back to trail after his last start 5th for repeatedly racing ungenerously, he looked well in his heat last week, stopping the clock in a good time. So long as he didn't leave his race there, he has a chance. (8) HAYAN TAEYANG raced twice this spring, registering a 6th and a 4th. She trialled up twice in September, posting good times and she can go well first-up. (2) DAERYUN BULPAE ran on well enough for a midfield finish on debut in August. He should have derived benefit from the experience and can improve here. (4) MENI CHARM and the solitary debut maker (3) SWAY are others to keep safe.

Seoul Race 4: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

(5) CHOEGANG NICE will be a warm favourite here. He enters off his best finish to date when 2nd over 1400M on August 26th, settling midfield and running on. His times haven't been quick but that's true of everything in this race and he can settle off the pace and prove too strong late on. (2) YEJIMONG was well back behind Choegang Nice in that August race but ran fairly enough for 5th over 1200M on September 17th. In this company and from a good draw, she can be on pace and in this a long way. (6) GRAND GUNHWANG showed signs of figuring things out when much-improved at start number four on September 16th and can continue to make progress here. (10) MY ONE and (3) MAGIC K others who could compete for the minors.

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Fillies only and it's a good race for the level. (4) LOVE COWGIRL was a winner on debut back in May and has steadily improved across three starts at this level culminating in a 2nd place over 1300M on September 2nd when slowly away but running on well. She prefers to be on pace and with a better start she looks ready to win again here. (5) RAON THE FANTA got her maiden win at start number two over 1000M on September 2nd when racing handy throughout and running on. She is up in class and in distance here, but neither should be a problem and she can be a danger. (6) GRACE K made all to win at big odds over 1300M in July and backed it up with 2nd at this class over that same trip on September 3rd. She comes up 2kg in the weights but should be competitive again. (10) FOUR ACE, a close 3rd behind Grace K in that September race, along with the up in class last start winner (7) YEOWANG SOCKS are among plenty of others in the hunt.

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Since getting his maiden win in June, (9) THUNDER PRINCE has acquitted himself well in three starts at this level and comes in off a runner-up finish at this distance on September 24th, when racing midfield and finishing off well. He comes up slightly in the weights buts expect similar tactics here and he can go one better. The main danger is (4) DEVIL K. He was 5th behind Thunder Prince two starts back but beat a couple of these on his way to 3rd place over a mile at this level on September 17th. His maiden status may not change here but he looks a fine placing chance again. (3) CHOEGO POINT will need a line drawn through his latest but has placed at class and distance and can be given another chance. The up in class (10) HANGANG SKY, along with (7) REAL PACK, are other solid placing chances.

Seoul Race 7: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Tricky race. We'll take a chance on (5) OKCHEON SNIPER who was a winner on debut over 1000M before running 3rd at this class over 1200M. He then got his chance in the Rookie Stakes, but he laid out quite significantly around the turn which harmed his chances. He has since been back to trial, which he passed pleasingly enough, and he can be given a chance here. (4) TIZ INDY enters with her recent form reading consistently solid. She has run fair times at this distance and can settle just behind the speed and grind her way past plenty late on. (7) DAEJIUI YEOGEOL comes in off a strong 3rd place last time out at class and distance. She has the fastest time among these for the distance and can be a danger. (1) ARGO MUJEOK and (8) SATURDAY among others to keep safe.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(6) JUMONG CHEONHA will be the favourite. After winning over this distance at class 5 level in July, he has subsequently finished as runner-up in both his starts at this class, both over this distance in good times. In this company, he can settle on pace of handy, and he could prove to strong. (5) MONEY JANGGUN enters off two consecutive wins at 1400M and 1300M, most recently at this class on August 27th. He comes up a full 4kg in the weights today, but he can be competitive again. (11) MIGHTY SSEN is rapidly up in class having won his latest two at 1200M and 1300M. He carries a very light weight and while the widest gate isn't ideal, he can measure up in this company. (7) DREAM K and (8) GLOBAL MAGIC are others who can enter the calculations.

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Competitive race. (7) SOARA TO TO was a winner over 1200M at class 5 level two starts back and enters off a solid 4th place over that same trip at this level on September 16th. She carries a light weight and can settle on pace or handy here and can win. (3) POWERFUL HWASEONG has been working towards another win. He was most recently a close 3rd in a quick race at this class over 1200M on August 12th. He comes in fresh after two months off and is tactically versatile with solid claims to go close here. (10) JEOLDAE GACHI had a hard time in a valuable trophy race on international weekend last month but if we draw a line through that and instead go on his win at this class over 1200M in June and his very fast 4th over this distance in July, then he must be given a chance. (6) GLOBAL SUN and (1) GOOD HAPPY others in the hunt.

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(5) ARGO SMILE has won his latest two in fine fashion at a mile and at 1300M. He has six top-two finishes from seven starts and while he is up in class and up in distance to two turns for the first time, he is fairly weighted, and he can win here. The main danger is (1) YOUNGYOUNG SOCKS. She was a fine winner of a tough trophy race on international weekend last month at 1200M and while this is a very different challenge, she can get an easy lead from the inside gate and can be in this a long way. This two will fill out the top of most tickets but Korean Derby also-ran (6) SAENAE TOWN has won at this trip and comes in under a light weight. (7) BIG YAK and (4) THE QUEEN JUSTICE are others capable of placing.

Seoul Race 11: Class 2 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

(7) FIRE GIRL won well at class 3 level two starts back before beating a couple of these on her way to a creditable midfield finish in a big trophy race on international weekend, both at this distance. She comes in under a light weight here, and she can win. (2) SPEEDOM comes in having won at class and distance on August 26th settling midfield and running on. He comes up slightly in the weights but draws well and has every chance of going back-to-back. (3) RAON THE GOLD is up in class after a win and three runner-up finishes in her latest four. She carries a very light weight and can be expected to be on pace here and in this a long way. (6) JANGSAN POISON and (1) BEST LUCKY others in the frame among a small but competitive field.
