Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 40 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

A small field of juvenile maidens and (8) LEGENDSUN will be hot favourite to score. He's finished 4th and 3rd in his two starts to date, both over this trip and both times leading almost the entire way. He should get to the front again and will take some beating. (7) PERFECT TIARA raced twice in the summer and acquitted herself well, running 3rd and 4th, both over 1000M. She comes in fresh after fourteen weeks off but looked well in a trial in early September. She can be a danger here. (5) NAEGILUI WINNER ran 2nd on debut over 1000M in July almost managing to lead the entire way. He only beat two home on his latest stat at this distance on September 16th but it was a quick race, and he won't need to be much better to be much closer here. First time starter (3) MY KHAN, along with (6) CHEONMA BULPAE are others who may figure.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 40 Million

More juvenile maidens and another probably hot favourite. (1) GEUMSE ran 2nd on debut over 1000M in August before being a close 4th over the same trip on September 16th. He led both races and from the inside gate, should do the same here and while he comes up in trip, this time he should win. (4) NICE TAEYANG will be second-favourite. That's based on a much-improved 3rd place at start number three over 1000M on September 10th when he finished off very smartly. The step up in distance should suit and he can go close. (3) SEONGSIL YEONGUNG has already tackled this distance and did well coming 3rd in a decent time two starts back. He'll be in this. (7) HERO CHAMP and (6) MISS FINAL the other placing chances.

Selections (1) Geumse (4) Nice Taeyang (3) Seongsil Yeongung (7) Hero Champ

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 60 Million

Juvenile maidens with eight of the twelve racing for the first time. We'll side with experience and (11) SAHARAMOND, who came from well off the pace to run 3rd on debut over 1000M on September 17th. He should have derived benefit from that run and with some natural improvement, shapes as the one to beat. (3) CHOEGANG TIME similarly debuted over 1000M on September 2nd and performed well, finishing 4th of eleven. He too came from off the pace and may appreciate the step up in trip here. A couple of the debut-makers won their trials. They include (4) PASALUBONG, who sat handy in his heat before running on well and recording a good time, as well as (8) RAON TAP PLAY, who did similar, albeit in a slightly slower time. Both can go well first up. (10) DRONE KILLER among a couple of other debut makers who caught the eye in trials.

Selections (11) Saharamond (3) Choegang Time (4) Pasalubong (8) Raon Tap Play

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 40 Million

A small field of juvenile maidens in the opener on the south coast. (5) BUGYEONG LION will be the warm favourite. The only one in the field to have raced three times already, he has two placings to his name including a last start 2nd over this distance on September 15th when leading until the shadow of the post. He should be just a bit too far ahead of these in terms of development and he should win. (1) ROAD TO TOP was an improved 2nd at start number two over 1200M in August, running on well. The step up in trip should suit and he can be a danger. (6) SPRIT FIGHTER has raced fairly in his two appearances so far. In this company expect him to be on pace or handy and to be in this a long way. (2) CHRYSOL SIERRA and (8) GEUMA PRECEDE are others in the frame.

Selections (5) Bugyeong Lion (1) Road To Top (6) Sprit Fighter (2) Chrysol Sierra

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(3) TRAUM KING got his maiden win at start number two over 1200M in early August before running 3rd on his first try at this class and distance on September 2nd, racing handy throughout and posting a good time. He draws nicely to be prominent again, and this time he can win. The main danger is (6) FLYING CARAVANE. A winner on debut over 1000M in July, he followed up with a very close 3rd place over 1200M at this class on September 3rd. He comes up 2kg in the weights, but the additional half furlong can suit, and he has every chance. (2) HAENGBOK YEOWANG is yet to win but comes up in class following too many near-misses. She is nicely weighted and while she doesn't necessarily look a winning chance, she can place. (7) DREAM PLAY and (11) MEOTJIN GANGHO others in the frame.

Selections (3) Traum King (6) Flying Caravane (2) Haengbok Yeowang (7) Dream Play

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

Fillies only in this maiden. (3) SSING GA will be favourite, coming in off a narrow loss when 2nd over this distance on September 8th. She draws well to get to the lead again and she may prove hard to get past. (5) SKY MORNING raced once last year and then twice this spring, all without distinction. She hasn't run since May, but she did look very well when practically making all in a trial last Saturday, stopping the clock in a good time. If she can bring that form to the races – and so long as she didn't leave her race in that trial – she can be in the mix here. (6) KICK'N RUSH is a nineteen-race maiden and while her recent form is unspectacular, this is the kind of race she can pick up a cheque in. (8) MACH TURBO and solitary debut-maker (7) EUNSEONG YEOWANG are others to consider for the minors.

Selections (3) Ssing Ga (5) Sky Morning (6) Kick'N Rush (8) Mach Turbo

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Two standouts here. (3) SEGWANG FIGHTER was a winner on debut on August 26th, sitting handy and then running on to score well in a good time over 1000M. He comes up in class and in distance, but neither should be an issue, and he can win again. (2) RAON THE MAN won on his July debut and then ran a solid 3rd place on his first go at this class and distance on August 26th. He comes up slightly in the weights but that's balanced by a good draw, and he should be on pace from the start and can be a real danger. (10) DALMAJI enters off two solid efforts in 3rd and 4th over 1300M and 1200M. Without the benefit of an apprentice claim he comes up significantly in weight, but he got his solitary win carrying far more and he can be competitive here. (1) SILVER BOOSTER and (7) FIJI BLADE others who can enter the calculations.

Selections (3) Segwang Fighter (2) Raon The Man (10) Dalmaji (1) Silver Booster

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Tricky race. We'll take a chance on (5) FIRE MAGIC, who came from well off the pace to get his maiden win at start number two on September 3rd over this distance. The time wasn't quick, but he won well enough and while up in class, he comes down in the weights and looks to have more potential for development. The possible betting favourite is (4) HOTFLEX. He raced three times in 2022 without distinction but returned in July following nine months out and has subsequent run 2nd twice, most recently at this distance. He comes up in class but down in the weights and he should get and easy run to the lead. He can shed his maiden status here. (3) CHOEGANG MUJIGAE doesn't win out of turn, but he rarely runs a bad race and looks a solid place chance from a good draw. (2) BACKTOTHECHAMPION and (9) UNJU OREUM others with at least minor money chances.

Selections (5) Fire Magic (4) Hotflex (3) Choegang Mujigae (2) Backtothechampion

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(2) LUCKY SUN's latest three outings were in the three legs of the Triple Crown, and he recorded top-half finishes on all three occasions. He has won at this level over 1800M and returning to shallower waters today, he is very much the one to beat. (8) GANGPUNGMA comes up rapidly in class having won his latest two at 1200M and 1300M. He comes up in trip too, but his running style so far suggests that it may suit, and he gets in under a light weight. (7) GEUMSEONG SIDAE comes up in class having finally secured his maiden win at start number twelve on September 10th. He has also placed at this distance and under a light weight can measure up in this company. (3) HWA SSI BYEOK and (10) SPECIALTIME among others to consider.

Selections (2) Lucky Sun (8) Gangpungma (7) Geumseong Sidae (3) Hwa Ssi Byeok

Busan Race 4: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(4) JEONGMUN SPECTER returned from five months out to get his maiden win over this distance on September 1st racing on pace throughout. He comes up in class here but is down in the weights and is well drawn to get to the front again. He can repeat. (11) SEOBU BIGSTEP is already a class and distance winner and enters off a very close runner-up finish on September 10th when he led until close to the line and beat a couple of today's rivals in the process. He isn't done any favours by the draw but with a touch of early luck to find a position, he can be a big danger. (6) WORLD FIVE is up in class but significantly down in weight following a smart win over 1300M at the end of July. He comes in fresh after eleven weeks off and can be competitive. (3) HANEUL JEWANG and (8) HALLA NURI others who can go close.

Selections (4) Jeongmun Specter (11) Seobu Bigstep (6) World Five (2) Haneul Jewang
Next Best 8, 7

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(1) NEULGAEUL shapes as the probable favourite here. A class 5 winner at 1400M two starts back, he was a very close 2nd on his first try at this level over 1300M on September 10th. His running style has suggested that two turns may suit and from the inside gate, Jo Jae-ro can drop his mount in behind and he can prove too strong. The main danger is (5) HAWK PRINCE. He returned from just over three months out at the beginning of September to win at big odds over 1800M at this class. He only comes up 1.5kg in the weights and he warrants much more respect this time. (10) WONDERFUL JOY and (9) WONDERFUL TYCOON both come in off runner-up finishes at this class over a mile on their respective latest starts and both can be considered here. (2) WALGADAK another in the frame.

Selections (1) Neulgaeul (5) Hawk Prince (10) Wonderful Joy (9) Wonderful Tycoon

Busan Race 5: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(2) DALLILLAEYO enters in good form with a win and two runner-up finishes from his latest three, most recently at this class and distance on September 1st when coming from off the pace. He comes up 2.5kg in the weights, but that's balanced by a good gate, and he has every chance of winning here. (10) GREAT ONE was a winner at this class over a mile two starts back and followed up with a 3rd place over this distance on September 2nd. The wide draw shouldn't be a problem and he should be close again. (4) DOCTOR PHARAOH has plenty of experience at this class and under a light weight, he can be competitive. (7) CHANGCHANG DAERO and (9) HAPPY BLUE look to be the best of the rest.

Selections (2) Dallillaeyo (10) Great One (4) Doctor Pharaoh (7) Changchang Daero

Seoul Race 8: Class Open (2000M) Weight for Age / KRA Cup Classic (KOR G2) / KRW 700 Million

Six of the ten ran in the international Korea Cup on September 10th. By virtue of his 3rd place (7) WINNER'S MAN can go on top here. A previous Korea Cup, as well as Grand Prix Stakes winner, he suffered a couple of reverses this summer before roaring back into form in the Cup, albeit a long way behind the Japanese winner and runner-up. Those reverses were at the hands of (1) TUHONUI BANSEOK, who obliterated him in the YTN Cup here in May before grinding out a win in the Busan Mayor's Cup in July. He led the Korea Cup before intimately finishing 6th and without the Japanese to worry about, this can be a very different race. He can win. (3) SUCCESS MACHO was an excellent 4th in the Korea Cup. That came after he got his first Group level win in the Busan Owners' Cup over a mile in July and another big performance shouldn't be ruled out. (10) SIMJANGUI GODONG and (8) HAENGBOK WANGJA others in the placing frame.

Selections (7) Winner's Man (1) Tuhonui Banseok (3) Success Macho (10) Simjangui Godong

Busan Race 6: Class 1 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million

(1) CALM STRONG won the KNN Cup for fillies and mares at this distance in June and then scored at class 1 level over 1800M in July, making all. She finished back in the pack in the international Korea Sprint a month ago but didn't disgrace herself and under a light weight, this looks a more than winnable assignment. Another filly may pose the most danger. (4) GANGSEO GIANT won over this distance at class 2 level two starts back before finishing back in the pack over 2000M on her first class 1 test a month ago. She previously ran 3rd to Calm Strong in the KNN Cup and back to a mile today, she can go close. (9) DONGTEUJA BOY ran out a good winner over 1400M with a few of these behind him in July and comes in fresh following thirteen weeks off. (3) PRO CONSUL and (5) ONNURI JILJU others in the hunt.

Selections (1) Calm Strong (4) Gangseo Giant (9) Dongteuja Boy (3) Pro Consul

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(4) KING DIA raced three times in the spring, winning on debut before running 2nd and 3rd in two starts at class 5 level at 1300M. He starts here for the first time since April, but he looked very well when winning a trial in September and while up in class since the last time we saw him, he carries a very light weight and draws very well. He is the one to beat. (8) HONOR ROSE has won two from four and comes up in class following a good score over 1300M on September 3rd when making all. He comes down in the weights and can measure up in this company. (9) AMAZON KING looks to be working towards another win. He enters off a 3rd and a 2nd in his latest two, both at this class and distance, and he should be in the frame here. (10) NAOL CHEONJI and up in class last start winner (3) DANDI are others to keep safe.

(3) RANUT had a tough time from a wide draw in the Jeju Governor's Cup over 1400M last month, but 1200M is more her go and from a great draw and under a light weight, she has the potential to recapture her early form here. (4) MIGHTY LOOK enters off a smart 3rd place in a valuable trophy race on international weekend last month at this distance. She can leave herself a bit much to do but she has a very tidy finish on her and will be a danger late on. (6) THUNDER TIME is up in class following back-to-back victories over 1400M. He can measure up at this level. (7) TROTTING RILEY and (2) CHOEGANG BLADE, the latter up in class following a win over this distance, among others with claims in what is a competitive race.

Seoul Race 11: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

Competitive finale. We'll take a chance on (5) SINHAN TEUKSONG, who comes up in class having won both her latest two outings over this distance in decent times. She carries a light weight here and while this is definitely harder, she can complete her hat-trick. (7) SUPER FINISH posted some super times when winning two in a row at class 4 level in May and July. He never really got into things when midfield in a valuable trophy race on international day last month but that was at 1200M, and this should suit more. (2) GUKDAE CLASS enters off a smart class and distance 2nd on September 9th when on pace throughout. He draws well and should go close again. (10) RAON THE HIGHMAN, up in class but significantly down in weight, and (8) DAPHNE are others in the hunt.

Selections (5) Sinhan Teuksong (7) Super Finish (2) Gukdae Class (10) Raon The Highman
