Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 40 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Juvenile maiden fillies in the opener with all but one racing for the first time. (3) WONDERFUL PASS gets the nod having won her trial in a fair time on October 20th when racing handy throughout. She draws nicely here and if she brings that form to the races, she can win. (9) NESSUN DORMA came through the same trial, finishing 2nd lest than a length in arrears. She had led for much of the way around so she has to contend with a slightly wide draw here, but she should be competitive. (7) RAON PANORAMA went through two trials and showed a bit more maturity in the second of them when a close 3rd in an average time. That's enough to put her in contention here. (6) SHACKLE POINT and (2) BRGHT HANSEN others who hinted at ability in their respective heats.

Selections (3) Wonderful Pass (9) Nessun Dorma (7) Raon Panorama (6) Shackle Point

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

(3) WINNER DRAGON looks the one to beat here. He has a 2nd place to his name and comes in off a last start 3rd over this distance on October 7th when he settled midfield and ran on, not going down by much. He has the fastest time among these for the distance by some margin and may prove hard to beat this time. (8) HAKSAN MACHO has shown steady progress across three starts so far, most recently 4th over this distance on October 7th when settling right back and running on. He has a good finish on him and can run into some money again. (10) HEY MAMA has a couple of 3rd places in her recent form and with Johan climbing aboard today can aim for the places. (11) SEONGSIL YEONGUNG and newcomer (4) DREAM CARD are others who could potentially go close.

Selections (3) Winner Dragon (8) Haksan Macho (10) Hey Mama (11) Seongsil Yeongung

Seoul Race 3: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Fillies and mares only here (7) STARTER was sent off as favourite on debut over 1000M on October 7th and duly obliged, leading every step of the way and crossing the line three-lengths to the good in a quick time. She comes up in both class and distance today, but neither should be an issue, and in restricted filly and mare company, she will be strongly favoured to maintain her 100% record. (11) TAEPYEONG FIGHTER got her maiden two starts back over this distance before running 2nd on her first try at this class on October 9th. She likes to race handy so she has to deal with the wide draw as well as an additional 3kg on her back, but she can go close again. (4) AL SIMON has been working her way back into form in recent efforts and there is no reason why she can't come off the pace to at least match her last starts 3rd. (10) SMART SOCKS and (3) HAPPY PLAY others to keep safe.

Selections (7) Starter (11) Taepyeong Fighter (4) Al Simon (10) Smart Socks

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

(3) CHARMING BEST took a couple of goes to find his feet but has looked to be figuring things out in his latest two with a 4th and most recently a 2nd place over this distance. Last time out he led for much of the way and stopped the clock in a time significantly quicker than any of today's rivals have managed. He draws well and should win. (7) KING FIGHTER too comes in off a good 2nd place at this distance on October 6th when he led until the closing stages. An apprentice keeps the weight down and he should be on pace and in this a long way once more. (6) WONDERFUL ONE raced well for 3rd over 1300M two weeks ago. He makes a quick return here and can be in the finish again. (8) LAND BANK and (11) COLONEL FLYING are among plenty of other placing chances.

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

The favourite here will be (4) ONE SPEAR. He got his maiden win two starts back over 1400M and then ran a strong 3rd over this class and distance on October 7th when settling right back and then finishing off smoothly.  He draws slightly better today to be ridden perhaps in midfield and he can use his strong finish to return to the winner's circle. (8) ARGO MUJEOK comes back in trip after middling efforts at slightly further. The last time he raced at 1300M he won, albeit at class 6, and he can be a danger here. (10) EINSPANNER hasn't quite lived up to his impressive debut but comes in off a front-running 3rd place over 1200M and will probably cross and attempt to lead again. If he can find a forward position and save some energy, then he can be in this a long way. (3) NAOL SKY and (11) CHADOL RUN other possibles.

Selections (4) One Spear (8) Argo Mujeok (10) Einspanner (3) Naol Sky

Busan Race 2: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

It's hard to go too far past (2) BEOLMAUI MONSTER. He ran 2nd on debut over 1000M and then repeated that finish at 1200M on October 8th. The means that despite remaining a maiden, he comes up in class but the horse who beat him last time, Black Spring, went on to win again at this level on Friday and from a good gate, it should be his turn today. (4) E-CASH returned to form with a smart 2nd place over 1300M on October 22nd when settling midfield and running on. She is nicely weighted, draws well, and can go close again. (5) DONGNAM WINNER made all to win at this class and distance on October 13th. She comes up 2.5kg in the weights but a repeat shouldn't be ruled out. (11) DAEHOMA and (8) HWARANG SKY others in the placing frame.

Selections (2) Beolmaui Monster (4) E-Cash (5) Dongnam Winner (11) Daehoma

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Competitive race. (9) MIGHTY TAP was a winner at this distance in September when coming from off the pace and scoring smartly. He then failed to fire on his first try at this class over 1300M on October 7th, but he does look to have some ability and may be worth another chance here. (7) HONEY PUNCH remains winless in thirteen but has six top-three finishes including her latest two. She will settle midfield here and can run into some money again. Similar to Mighty Tap, (2) THE PLAYER got his maiden win two starts back before throwing in an ordinary performance on his first try at this class. He draws well here, he should be on pace, and he can be more of a danger this time. (10) TAEPYEONG HERO comes up in class following back-to-back 3rd places and a 2nd at class 6. His times at 1200M were competitive and the step up in trip can suit. (4) STORM BREAKER another up in class and in the hunt.

Selections (9) Mighty Tap (7) Honey Punch (2) The Player (10) Taepyeong Hero

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(3) GLOBAL TAEYANG will be a heavy favourite here. She got her maiden win at start number two on August 27th when coming from well off the pace over 1200M before following it up with a narrow defeat over this distance on her first try at this class on October 6th. An apprentice means she gets in under a very light weight and from a good draw, she will take some beating. (4) LEMON PIE was a good winner on debut over 1200M before tackling the Listed Areumdaun Jilju Stakes for juveniles for her second assignment where she ran a solid 4th. She is lightly weighted, and she can be a danger here. (6) FIRST PARK is much more experience and while she doesn't exactly win out of turn she has been a frequent placer at this class and shouldn't be far away again. (10) AJANTA and (7) ALPHA HEART are others in the hunt for the minors.

Selections (3) Global Taeyang (4) Lemon Pie (6) First Park (10) Ajanta

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(5) NONSTOP THUNDER is the one to beat here. She comes in having won at this class and distance on October 8th when always racing handy and then running on. She barely comes up in the weights and from a good draw she can be on pace or handy again and could prove too strong. It's a competitive race though with plenty entering with their recent form reading well. (6) GEUMBIT CHEONHA was 3rd in that October 8th race having been well supported off the back of a class 5 win over 1400M in September. He is another that likes to be on pace, and he can match or better that 3rd here. (2) SEONGUN CROWN was gifted a win last time out when the jockey on what was set to be an easy winner, misjudged the line. That was at 1300M and Seongun Crown finished off very well. He is up in class but down in weights and the mile can suit. (4) HIGH GRAND and (9) PERFECT GUN MAN among plenty of others in the hunt.

Selections (5) Nonstop Thunder (6) Geumbit Cheonha (2) Seongun Crown (4) High Grand

Busan Race 4: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(11) DALLILLAEYO ran out a class and distance winner on October 15th racing midfield and then running on to score narrowly. He comes up 3kg in the weights and has the challenge of the widest gate, but he is in very solid form, and he could well win again. The main danger looks to be (7) NAMYANG BOLT. He won over this distance at class 5 level on October 8th, posting a very good time in the process. Despite the class rise, he doesn't get a weight drop but regardless should be competitive here. (6) HONEY DRAGON was a class and distance winner on October 6th, always racing prominently. The same apprentice jockey keeps his carried weight to a manageable level, and he too can go close once more. (1) HAVE A GOOD DAY and (9) STATICE others who could go close.

Selections (11) Dallillaeyo (7) Namyang Bolt (6) Honey Dragon (1) Have A Good Day

Seoul Race 7: Class 3 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(8) ACHIM DONGJA is a winner of two of his last three, most recently over 1400M on September 16th when taking things up early and holding on well. He comes up in class and in distance here but is down in the weights and has the potential for more. (1) CHUNJI GWANGPUNG has only the one win to his name but enters in good form with two 4th places and a 2nd from his latest three. The 2nd was at this class and distance on October 7th when prominent all the way and while he carries his fair share of weight, he can be a danger here. Also carrying their fair share is (3) GLOBAL YEONGUNG. He is up a full 5kg from his win over 1800M on October 7th when, as is his style, he went right back before running on, but he can be competitive again. (2) GEUMA ALLURE is another last start winner who comes up in class and trip and shouldn't be dismissed. (6) K N LIGHT has potential for the minors.

Selections (8) Achim Dongja (1) Chunji Gwangpung (3) Global Yeongung (2) Geuma Allure

Busan Race 5: Class Open (1200M) Special Weight A / Gimhae Mayor's Trophy (KOR-L) / KRW 200 Million

Busan's second leg of the Juvenile Series. (3) BAEKDUUI KKUM was the Rookie Stakes in August and then the first leg of the series, the Areumdaun Jilju Stakes on October 8th, both with ease. That puts her significantly ahead of the rest of these in terms of achievement and she will be a very short-priced favourite to win again. (7) HANGANG CLASS was 4th in the Rookie Stakes and didn't go in the Areumdaun, instead taking his chance in a regular class 5 over this distance which he won easily. Only Baekduui Kkum has gone quicker at the 1200M, and he could be a danger here. (5) DOCTOR KINGDOM was 2nd in both the Rookie and the Areumdaun. He has plenty to find on the favourite but could have too much for the rest. (2) GREAT WINNER and the unbeaten (1) WONDERFUL LEAR are others to consider.

Selections (3) Baekduui Kkum (7) Hangang Class (5) Doctor Kingdom (2) Great Winner

Seoul Race 8: Class Open (1200M) Special Weight A / NACF Chairman's Trophy (KOR-L) / KRW 200 Million

Seoul's second leg of the juvenile series attracts a big field of thirteen and with the first two placegetters from the first leg, the Munhwa Ilbo Trophy, both absent, it falls on that day's 3rd, (5) LALA K to be favoured. After winning his first two races comfortably, first from the front and then famously from the clouds in the Rookie Stakes, he was the favourite in the Munhwa but raced somewhat flat. He gets a better draw this time and can return to winning ways. (12) FLYING STAR was 4th in the Rookie Stakes and would have won by a long way on her return to action over 1300M on October 7th only for her jockey to completely misjudge how far there was until the finish and ease her down (the jockey got a three-month ban). Presumably that won't happen here, and on her merits, she should be in this. (9) GEOSEN BANGYEOK was 5th in the Rookie before winning well over 1300M at class 5 level in October and shapes as a potential danger. (6) BRAVO PLAY may be worth some interest at an each-way price. (4) ZIGGURAT is another who will have some backers.

Selections (5) Lala K (12) Flying Star (9) Geosen Bangyeok (6) Bravo Play

Busan Race 6: Class 1 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million

Decent class 1 to finish with on the south coast. (8) YEONGGWANGUILEGEND is probably worthy of the pick and should start favourite. He ran 2n don his first try at class 1 over 1400M on August 27th having led for much of the race. He has posted consistent times at this distance and under a light weight and with Seo Seung-un on board, today can be his day. (4) DAEJI CHOICE comes up in class following a 2nd place at 2000M a month ago. He has a good record at this distance too though and carries a very light weight here. (5) MIRACLE DREAMING was a class and distance winner on September 24th, sitting behind the speed and running on. He comes up 4.5kg in the weights but can be considered again. (11) ILBEONJI and (1) CHOEGANG SSONSAL others in the hunt.

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(5) BULGOM MADRE will be a warm favourite. She is yet to finish any worse than 4th and looks to be working her way back towards another win with a 3rd and a 2nd from her latest two, most recently at this class and distance on October 7th when going down by a very narrow margin. She likes to settle behind the speed and run on and she should prove too strong. (9) COMPLETE STEP won her first two races to be rapidly promoted to this level before finishing 3rd on her first class 4 assignment on September 10th, well beaten by a good winner. She remains lightly weighted here and can go close again. (6) THUNDER DREAM won an August trial and was a good 2nd on debut over 1200M in September. He should have come on for that run and can be a danger. Debut-maker (8) AWESOME NATALIE won her trial and could be interesting at an each-way price. (4) ARA MOA another in the hunt.

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(5) SUN DRAGON won back-to-back races up to this level before running 4th in a valuable Trophy race on international weekend in September. He carries his fair share of weight today but from a good draw should be on the early speed and should have too much. (1) HEY CUPID comes up in class following two wins and a runner-up finish in his latest three starts. He draws well and comes down a full 5kg in the weights which should enable him to measure up in this company. (11) DUSON FANTASTIC is also up in class, in his case after a good win over this distance on October 9th. His style is to come from off the pace so the wide draw shouldn't be a problem and he can go close. (6) JEOLDAE GACHI and (9) GWANGYANG EUTTEUM, the latter racing for the first time since June, others who can enter the calculations.

Selections (5) Sun Dragon (1) Hey Cupid (11) Duson Fantastic (6) Jeoldae Gachi

Seoul Race 11: Class 1 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million

(1) JANGSAN MONSTER won back-to-back races in May and July at class 2 level over this distance before being a touch disappointing in a big Trophy race on international weekend when he was behind a couple of today's rivals. He comes down 4kg in the weights today, and he can return to form at what will probably be a generous price. (6) GLOBAL BOBAE is an ultra-consistent type who comes in off a big prize win over 1400M. He tackles both class 1 and two-turns for the first time but is lightly weighted and a big chance. (9) BRIGADIER GENERAL came from well off the pace to score over 2300M last time. He is up in the weights as a result but warrants respect. (3) GALLOP CURLIN and (8) GOOD PILSEUNG others in the frame.
