Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

Picture: Racing and Sports

Juvenile maiden fillies. (8) GRAY QUEEN is the most experienced, with three starts behind her already and they include a 2nd and a 3rd from her latest two at 1200M and 1300M. While not quick, her 1200M time was faster than any of the others with experience have achieved and she is the reluctant top pick here. The danger is a first-time starter. (5) GRAND CHASER looked good in a trial, settling handy and running on for a close 2nd to the experienced Mongttang in a quick time. All the trials were fast that day, but she showed enough to be considered first-up. (3) SKY GRIT led that same trial, ultimately crossing the line 3rd. She raced once without distinction in June but should be on the pace and a different prospect here. (6) GOLDEN NICE and (2) BORAM are other contenders.

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

(6) UNJU TWO HEARTS will be hot favourite here. After an indifferent debut, she has registered three consecutive top-four finishes, racing on pace each time. She comes up marginally in trip but with Seo Seung-un climbing on, and against modest opposition, she shapes to be odds-on to score. (7) RED JASPER was an improved 3rd over 1200M on December 1st, overcoming gate ten to sit back and then run on. She has the best final furlong average time of any of these and from a better gate, if she can be a touch closer this time, she can be a danger. (8) MAJESTIC DANCER was an improved 3rd at start number two on November 17th, coming from off the pace. Third-up she can be peaking fitness-wise and looks a solid place chance again. (4) FLYING AARON and (3) NANGNAM DAERO others who could sneak into the minors.

Selections (6) Unju Two Hearts (7) Red Jasper (8) Majestic Dancer (4) Flying Aaron

Busan Race 3: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

(2) SEOGWI PERFECT raced on pace on start number two over 1300M only to ultimately go down by the narrowest of margins in 2nd. That was a big improvement from his debut and while he comes up slightly in trip, he also comes into a much better gate, and he can go one better today. The main danger is (3) ARA NURI. She similarly has three top-four finishes from four starts so far and from a good gate can be ridden on pace to be in this a long way. (4) CLOUD LOVE has shown steady but noticeable improvement across his latest few attempts. He doesn't look a winning chance here but can be matching or bettering his last start 4th. (5) TAP BOLT and (11) NEVER GIVE UP other potential improvers.

Selections (2) Seogwi Perfect (3) Ara Nuri (4) Cloud Love (5) Tap Bolt

Busan Race 4: Class 6 (1600M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

(2) LEMON DOKKI returned from nine months off to run a fair 6th of eleven over 1400M on December 3rd when settling back and running on. He should strip fitter for that run, the step up to a mile can suit, and he is the one to beat here. (3) AQUARIUS too may find an extended trip beneficial. She is yet to finish in the top-two in fourteen starts but enters with recent form reading well with a pair of 4th place finishes at 1400M. She can settle behind the speed and run on here. (5) HERE THE QUEEN returned from eight months out to run 6th of nine over 1300M on December 8th. She has a 2nd and a 3rd to her name from before the layoff and like Lemon Dokki, should be fitter for her run earlier this month. (10) CHEONSU SIDAE and (9) ASTIN MARINE are others to keep safe.

Selections (2) Lemon Dokki (3) Aquarius (5) Here The Queen (10) Cheonsu Sidae

Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

Juvenile maiden fillies open proceedings in the capital. (1) SEOCHEON LION will be one of the shortest priced favourites of the day. She is yet to finish any worse than 5th and comes in off her best to date when an on-pace 2nd over this distance on November 18th with a couple of today's rivals a long way back. She draws nicely and won't need to improve much – if at all – to win this. (6) CHEONHAENGCHAT has five top-five finishes from seven attempts and the second fastest time among these for the distance. In this company she should be on the speed and can be a factor for a long time. (11) SANSAMEUN HAMYANG was a much-improved 2nd at this distance on November 18th. She had a similarly wide gate to today, and she can be competitive again. (5) HOMYEONG QUEEN and (8) ROYAL BEST the other logical place chances.

Selections (1) Seocheon Lion (6) Cheonhaengchat (11) Sansameun Hamyang (5) Homyeong Queen

Busan Race 5: Class 5 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(7) LUCKY BAND is yet to win but has no fewer than six top-four finishes from eight attempts. That includes his 4th place on his first try at this class and distance on November 19th. He stays under the same weight here, Seo Seung-un gets on, and he can make his breakthrough. (8) DAHAMKKEDALLIJA looks to be the main danger. He stepped to two turns in fine style on December 3rd, recording a 2nd place at this class and distance having raced much further forward than he previously had. Expect similar tactics today, and he has every chance of going one better. (6) RUNNING WARRIOR beat three of these on her way to a class and distance win on November 10th, when settling midfield and running on strongly. She comes up a full 4kg in the weights, but she warrants respect here. (9) SHINE MONSTER and (1) RUN TO KING among others in the placing frame.

Selections (7) Lucky Band (8) Dahamkkedallija (6) Running Warrior (9) Shine Monster

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

Competitive maiden. (7) THUNDER A ONE has raced just twice but after doing nothing on debut, ran a solid 4th place on this distance on November 18th when handy throughout. Expect similar tactics here and with some more natural improvement, he has as good a chance as any. (1) HANGANG GLORY came from off the pace to run 3rd at this distance on November 25th, his best finish to date. He has raced on pace too and from the inside gate can get to the front here and be in this a long way. The third leading contender is (6) SEOUL DOLPUNG. He has a best of 3rd from his five starts so far, but h has a decent finish on him and should be a danger in the closing stages here. Debut-maker (10) SEMYEONG GHOST and (11) GOLDEN LINE are chief among plenty of others with placing hopes.

Selections (7) Thunder A One (1) Hangang Glory (6) Seoul Dolpung (10) Semyeong Ghost

Busan Race 6: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(10) WONDERFUL CHEROKEE comes up in class having secured his maiden win at start number three over 1400M on November 24th when pretty much making all. He draws a touch wider than ideal but it's a long back straight for him to find a forward position and he should be able to measure up in this company. (11) HERO J is the main danger. He is yet to win in eight starts but has a remarkable six top-three finishes: five of them in 3rd place. For him the wide draw shouldn't be a problem because he likes to come from off the pace and he will be a danger late on – he will probably be favourite, and the only question is whether he runs out of track late on again. (1) MOST RAPID is also a maiden but enters with recent form reading well and a repeat of his effort when 2nd at class and distance last time out on December 3rd will see him go close. (9) ALPHA HEART and (3) BLUE MORE others to keep safe.

Selections (10) Wonderful Cherokee (11) Hero J (1) Most Rapid (9) Alpha Heart

Seoul Race 3: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

This is a good race for the level with plenty of up and comers. (1) STAR TREK gets the nod. A winner on debut over 1200M on September 24th, he was on pace on his first tr at this class, again over 1200M, on November 4th, before ultimately finishing 5th. He draws well to be on pace here and he can return to winning ways. (7) COSMO RUN is the main danger. He comes back following a two-month suspension for his racing manners in both his latest two starts, despite which, he managed a win and a 2nd place. He trialled up to the satisfaction of the stewards earlier this month – winning his heat – and if he can keep his mind on the task, he has every chance of winning. (10) EVERY CHARM returned from eight months off to run a solid 5th over 1400M on November 19th. The step back to the distance at which she won should help and she should strip fitter for that run. (9) SESANG APEURO and (4) BOSS BABY among others in the hunt.

Selections (1) Star Trek (7) Cosmo Run (10) Every Charm (9) Sesang Apeuro

Busan Race 7: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Having won easily on debut, (7) STAR DAERO has been a beaten favourite in two starts since at this class at 1300M and 1400M, settling handy both times but not quite having the finish on him. He drops back in trip today and that should be enough to see him home on top this time. (6) BEOMHAN GOLD beat Star Daero as the pair came home 4th and 5th respectively over 1400M on November 26th. He is yet to win in six attempts, but he shapes as the main danger to the favourite. Here. (9) DYNAMIC WINNER defied the status of longest shot on the board to run 2nd at class and distance on December 1st and with most of the rest of the field entering off very patchy recent form, that's enough to put her in the frame here. (11) STREET ROCK and (4) AMUR are perhaps the most likely to arrest their recent slides.

Selections (7) Star Daero (6) Beomhan Gold (9) Dynamic Winner (11) Street Rock

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Another tricky one. (8) RAON CITY GIRL had a poor day at the office last time out when going backwards in the closing stages and only beating one. She has placed at class and distance though and has the fastest time among these for the 1200M. Accordingly after a seven-week break, we'll give her another chance today. (6) BAEKDU MEOTJAENGI took a couple of attempts to get to grips with this class but enters off a sharp 2nd place on November 11th when handy throughout. She comes up 2.5kg in the weights but should be on pace here and is a serious contender. (9) HWIPARAM too enters off a last start 2nd place when coming from well off the pace. The wide draw shouldn't be an issue and she can be competitive again. The up in class maiden (10) NAEGILUI WINNER looks to have potential and along with (3) YONGCHEON JISANG, is another who can enter the calculations.

Selections (8) Raon City Girl (6) Baekdu Meotjaengi (9) Hwiparam (10) Naegilui Winner

Busan Race 8: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

Fillies (and one mare) only here. (2) POCKET MILLION is yet to finish any worse than 4th from her five starts so far and she comes up rapidly in class having won her latest two, both over 1300M, both times making all. This is naturally tougher, but she comes in under a light weight, she draws well, and she looks to have the potential for more. (5) GREAT MISS returned from nine months off to run 2nd over this distance on November 12th, racing on pace throughout. That brings her up in class, but she should strip fitter for the run, she comes down in the weights, and she can measure up here. (10) HONOR CAL has been working towards another win with a 3rd and a 2nd in her latest two, both at this class over 1400M and 1200M. She comes up a full 3kg in the weights here and does draw wide but with a touch of luck at the start she can find a good position and should be in the finish. (3) DIABLO QUEEN and (7) SPECIAL HERO others who can contest the minors.

Selections (2) Pocket Million (5) Great Miss (10) Honor Cal (3) Diablo Queen

Seoul Race 5: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(2) J S ROAD comes up rapidly in class having won two of his first three starts, with both wins being all the way romps over this trip. He draws well, carries a light weight, and he can continue on his merry way today. (7) ULTRA SOCKS will need her latest forgiven when well back behind a couple of these at class and distance on November 12th. Two starts back though she placed at class and distance having led and she could make for some interest at a probable each-way price. (4) NEMO PRINCE beat a few of these on his way to 3rd place at class and distance on November 19th, coming from off the pace. His recent form has been on an upward trajectory, and he can continue that here. (1) NAEGILUI QUEEN and the up in class (8) RAON THE MAN are other possibles.

Selections (2) J S Road (7) Ultra Socks (4) Nemo Prince (1) Naegilui Queen

Busan Race 9: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(4) GEUMA DEFT comes up in class having won his latest two in fine style over 1400M and most recently 1200M, both times making all. He comes down 3kg in the weights, he draws well, and he can make it three in a row here. (5) HANEUL SEUNGNI beat plenty of these when winning at class and distance on November 24th having stalked the lead throughout and then run on. He comes up a full 4kg in the weights, but a repeat shouldn't be ruled out. (2) GOLDEN overcame gate eleven in that November 24th race to run a very close 3rd. While he too comes up in the weights, he comes into a much better gate and can be in the finish again. (7) DOCTOR OSCAR and (9) BEASTLY others in the hunt.

Selections (4) Geuma Deft (5) Haneul Seungni (2) Golden (7) Doctor Oscar

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(8) BULUI NALGAE was a winner over class and distance in September hand has followed it up with back-to-back 3rd places, racing on pace each time. That brings him up in the weights here, but he is ultra-consistent, and he can return to winning ways here. (5) META BLADE is the danger. She was an also-ran in the Triple Tiara this year, with a 5th place in the Gyeonggi Governor's Cup over 2000M her best. She races for the first time since running 4th to Bului Nalgae's 3rd at class and distance on October 29th, and with a light weight and Moon Se-young up, don't be surprised if she starts as favourite, or if she wins. (6) HANGANG SKY comes up rapidly in class having won two of his last three and looks nicely in here. (4) SIDAEUI MYEONGJAK and (7) PERFECT GUN MAN other possibles for the minor money.

Selections (8) Bului Nalgae (5) Meta Blade (6) Hangang Sky (4) Sidaeui Myeongjak

Busan Race 10: Class 1 (2000M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million

(8) SPEED YOUNG comes in having run 3rd in the President's Cup, seven-lengths behind Winner's Man, but just three-quarters of a length behind stablemate Global Hit, who went on to go so close to Winner's Man in last week's Grand Prix. A super winner at class 2 level over 1800M in September, he comes in here under a light weight, and he should have too much. (9) MACH TITAN beat three of these on his way to 3rd place over 1800M on November 26th, racing on pace throughout. He remains lightly weighted and can go close again. The reason he – and all except one – carry so little is that (6) CRAZY CONTI puts them all out of the handicap. He ran 4th in that November 26th race having begun as favourite and he finished midfield in the Korea Cup. He won the last time he raced at this distance and despite the weight he gives away, he will be a factor. (3) CAPTAIN YANKEE and the up in class but bang in form (1) MALIBU BYEOL are others in the frame.

Selections (8) Speed Young (9) Mach Titan (6) Crazy Conti (3) Captain Yankee

Seoul Race 7: Class 1 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million

(3) JOY BROTHER comes in off defeat by the narrowest of margins at this class over 1200M on November 26th when coming from well off the pace and almost getting there. He has run some super times over this trip as well and under a light weight and from a good draw, he can be the one to beat today. (7) COBRA BALL was a winner at this class over a mile two starts back before running 5th to Joy Brother's 4th at this distance n October. He can be hard to catch but he comes in fresh after nine weeks and he can put in a big run. (10) SPOT FLATTER races for the first time since a 3rd place in a valuable trophy race on international weekend in September. He comes back to one turn racing for the first time in a while and should be competitive. (6) GLOBAL BOBAE and (9) MIGHTY GO others in the frame.
