Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million

Three-year-old fillies only in the opener and ten of the twelve are racing for the first time. We will tentatively side with experience though and (6) VIVA CHEONGSU, who came from off the pace to run a close 3rd in a decent time over this distance on December 16th. She should have come on for the run and can go one better here. The pick of the first timers is (2) BYLONG STAR. She raced handy in her trial before taking things up late on and crossing the line 1st. She draws nicely to be on pace here and should go well. (3) SOFT POWER came through the same heat and was just a head back in 2nd place and clocking the same time. She too will have supporters first up. (5) WONPYEONG NURI has raced once before, leading for much of the around on October 28th over this distance before ending up in 4th. She has had eleven weeks off since but will be in the market. (10) AWESOME CREDIT took three goes to qualify but is the next best of the newcomers.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

The most experienced in the race gets the verdict in this maiden and that's (6) SEOCHEON LION. He has raced five times and is yet to finish outside of the to-five with his best being a runner-up two starts back over this distance when close to the pace throughout. He did weaken having led on his most recent appearance, but he should have too much here. There are two first-time starters and (8) P N S NALA may make for some appeal. He was on-pace in his trial, crossing the line 3rd in a fair time and if he can get a forward position here, he can be a factor. (3) MIGHTY BOM was 2nd in his trial before finishing in midfield on debut on December 10th. He should have derived benefit from the experience and can get closer this time. (4) BEAUTIFUL HWASEONG and (11) THUNDER DRAGON are others in contention for the minors.

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Small field but it's competitive. (8) RAON JUMP has eight top-five finishes from fourteen starts and comes in off a useful 4th place over 1300M on December 3rd when coming from well off the pace and beating a couple of today's rivals. She tends to get a bit far back in her races but the combination of the step back up to 1400M as well as less likelihood of traffic problems with a small number of rivals may make it her day. Should she leave herself too much to do again then (6) WONDEFUL WELLS, who will be betting favourite, may oblige. She has been solid, if unspectacular across her six starts to date and in the absence of any speed in this race, should get to a more forward position than usual. The step up to 1400M can suit. (1) SUPER ONE has hinted at ability, especially when 4th of twelve two starts back. He will probably be on pace too. (3) NEXTLEVEL and (2) DANGCHAN NANGBO others who could pick up a cheque.

Seoul Race 4: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Two standouts here. By virtue of a better draw, the nod goes to (3) CHAMJOEUN INYEON. She comes in off her best finish so far, when 2nd over 1200M on December 9th having raced handy throughout. From a great gate, she should be close again. (10) ACRO MARINE also has a 2nd place to his named, achieved over 1200 last October. The wide draw need not be too big an issue as he can finish off well and he should be a danger late on here. (5) GANGCHEOL YEOGEOL was 4th behind Chamjoeun Inyeon last time out. She is yet to finish in the top two but has no fewer than seven finishes between 3rd and 5th and she should be there or thereabouts again. (4) HAMPYEONG FIGHTER and (2) THORUI MANGCHI among others in the frame.

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies and mares only here. (2) SUMMER PARTY comes up in class having struck through at start number two over 1200M on December 16th, settling back and running on. She is nicely weighted, she draws well, and she can win again here. (8) WALTZUI YEOWANG also comes up in class, in her case after three outings which have resulted on two 3rd place finishes and a 2nd. She has proven versatile, racing both on pace and from behind and under a light weight, there shouldn't be anything for her to fear at this level. (5) SMART BYEOL has got plenty of minor money finishes to her name and while she doesn't look a winning chance here, she may make for some appeal on a place line. (10) SILVER PURGE and (7) DREAM SKY are others who can enter the calculations.

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Draw a line through the latest from (3) EUNPA SARANG when he went down to Busan to try her luck in the G2 Breeders' Cup for juveniles. He only beat two home but didn't run a bad race and posted a good time in a race where the margins weren't big. He returns to shallower waters today and is the one to beat. (2) THE PLAYER also went to Busan for the breeders' Cup and was one of only two horses that Eunpa Sarang beat. His form leading up to that race was good though, including a place at this class and distance in November and he too should be a different prospect today. (6) STORM GUY got his maiden win over 1200M in November, leading all the way, and then followed up by running 2nd on his first go at this class and distance on December 9th. He comes up a couple of kilograms in the weights, but he should be in the mix again. (11) GANGSEO V and (10) LAST PITCH others in the frame.

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(5) GEOLJAK ONE took six goes to get her maiden win but comes in here having won the Gwacheon Mayor's Trophy, a listed face for juvenile fillies over 1200M on December 3rd when she settled midfield and proved too strong. The step up to 1400M shouldn't be a problem and she can make it three wins in a row here. (1) MEGA DRAGON won his first two races to get rapidly promoted to this level. Like a couple in the previous race, he went down to Busan to run in the G2 Breeders' Cup for juveniles at the start of last month, and he ran well, coming from a long way back to finish 6th. He carries a light weight, he draws well, and he can be a big danger. (3) EXCELLENT QUEEN is two for two and quickly up in class, as well as in distance, after scores over 1000M and 1200M. This is a big step-up difficulty wise, but she has potential for more progress. (9) ZIGGURAT is another who comes out of the Breeders' Cup having acquitted himself admirably and along with (4) BLACK GUN is another to consider in a small but competitive field.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(5) GANGPUNGMA will be one of the warmer favourites of the day. He is a winner of three from six, most recently two starts back at this class over 1400M and was then beaten into 2nd when favourite for his latest appearance on December 9th. He steps up to a mile for the first time, but his running style should suit, and he should be saluting here. (1) ROYAL TAERI was an 18/1 class and distance winner on December 23rd, when settling right back and running on. He comes up 2.5kg in the weights here but warrants more respect this time around. (2) THUNDER HORSE has a 3rd, and two runner-up finishes from three tries at this class. He has won at this distance and should be on at least a place line again. (9) OHRA KHAN and (4) HIGH GRAND among others not to be dismissed.

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

Fillies and mares only here. (3) HAENGBOKAN SEUNGJA is a winner of two from five and enters off a strong showing when 4th behind Geoljak One in the Listed Gwacheon Mayor's Trophy for juvenile fillies just over a month ago. In this company and from a good draw, she can be on pace from the start, and she can win. (7) CHADOL DIA comes up rapidly in class having won back-to-back races for fillies, both over this distance. She led every step of the way in both, and she can measure up in this company. As an import, (9) BEOLGYO TAEYANG began at this class and while yet to win, she has shown promise and improvement across each of four starts. She comes in after a 2nd place last time out and while up in the weights, can be in the finish. (4) DOLBAE and (6) PINE FARM others to consider.

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(10) MY CENTER has won two of his last three which brings him rapidly up from class 5 to class 3. His latest win was over 1300M on December 17th when he raced handy throughout and while he faces the challenge of the widest gate, he comes down to a tiny weight, and he could win again. The main danger is (1) CLAIR BEST. A winner over this distance at class 4 level two starts back, he then ran 4th on his first try at this class over 1400M on December 3rd. He remains lightly weighted, he is very well drawn, and he will coming home strong. (7) WONDERFUL DEVIL could beat both. It's been a while between drinks, but she enters with recent form reading very well with back-to-back runner-up finishes from her latest two and she should be there or thereabouts again. The up in class (3) RAON THE WEEKEND, along with (9) GOLD POWER are among plenty f others with placing chances.

Seoul Race 11: Class 2 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

Really good finale with a plethora of contenders. (7) ARGO SMILE is a winner of four from ten, most recently over this distance at class 3 level in October. Since then, he has run 2nd and 6th in two tries at this class, both over the mile, and coming back up to two turns, today could be his day. (3) HANGANGUI GISANG returned from six months out to run a fair 4th place at class and distance at the end of November. That was an excellent return, and he should stirp fitter for the run and get closer here. (1) GLOBAL YEONGUNG won back-to-back races at class 3, one at this trip, in October and November to get promoted to this class. He then ran a solid 4th place form the widest gate over a mile on his first try at this level on December 17th, settling back and running on. He has every chance here. (8) DAESARI is another interesting one coming into the mix. He has won his latest two, both over this distance, to get promoted to this class and he shouldn't be dismissed. (10) LUCKY WORLD another in with a chance of the places.
