Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Three-year-old maidens in the opener. (3) SKY GRIT ran 6th on debut last June and then didn't appear again until Christmas Eve when she led early over this distance, ultimately finishing 4th. The time was significantly quicker than any of the others here have achieved, she draws well, and will take some beating.  (10) ONES HEYDEY improved at start number two on December 29th when settling midfield and running on and finishing 4th. She came out of the same wide gate she draws today and the way she finished off suggests her best days may in fact lie ahead. (6) CHAS QUEEN overcame a slow start to run on for 5th on debut on December 29th. It was a slow time, but she beat a couple of today's rivals and enters the calculations here. Debut-maker (1) GREAT QUEEN along with (7) JINJU BIT are others to consider.

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(5) MAJESTIC DANCER enters off back-to-back 3rd place finishes at 1200M and 1300M both times settling back and running on well. The slight step up in trip can suit and today can be his day. The favourite will be (2) HI WINNER. She's raced four times so far. Never finishing any worse than 5th and with her best being her latest when 2nd over 1300M on January 7th when handy throughout. She already has a 3rd place at this distance to her name and from a good gate she has every chance here. Completing the top line of chances is (7) WONDERFUL FEVER. He was a solid 3rd on debut over 1200M back in November and returns here after eleven weeks out. He should have come on for that run and in a race devoid of early speed, may well be on the front from the start. (10) JOJOBA and (6) SERAFINA among others in the minor money hunt

Selections (5) Majestic Dancer (2) Hi Winner (7) Wonderful Fever (10) Jojoba

Busan Race 3: Class 6 (1600M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(1) NEVER GIVE UP has shown progress across three starts so far, culminating in a runner-up finish over 1400M on Christmas Eve when he overcame the widest gate. The step up to a mile should be in his favour and he can go one better this time. (4) YEONGGWANGUICLASS enters off back-to-back 3rd place finishes, both at this distance and most recently when beating a couple of today's rivals on January 14th. He makes a quick return here and should be in the mix once more. (7) FUERTE ran on pleasingly enough on debut over 1300M on December 31st, crossing the line in 4th place. He should have derived benefit from that experience and can get closer here. (8) YEONGGWANGUIPRINCE and (11) CHRYSOL SIERRA others who can enter the calculations.

Busan Race 4: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies and mares only here. (9) BANG BANG BANG was sent off as favourite on debut over 1200M on December 29th and duly obliged, settling midfield before cruising away to score by eleven-lengths. She comes up in class and in distance, but the manner of that victory suggests that there is more to come, and she can go two for two here. A big danger is (8) KOHINOOR. She got her maiden win over this trip two starts back when making all and then ran a solid 4th when tried at a mile for her first race at this level. Back at 1400M today, expect her to be on or close to the speed and to be in this a long way. (5) UNJU TWO HEARTS comes up in class having led all the way to get her maiden win over 1300M on Christmas Eve. That win had been coming and she can measure up in this company. (1) ALPHA HEART and (6) TTANBONG QUEEN among others to keep safe.

Selections (9) Bang Bang Bang (8) Kohinoor (5) Unju Two Hearts (1) Alpha Heart

Busan Race 5: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(6) SINCHEON FIRST had been threatening a win for a while and he got it in emphatic style on December 29th when leading all the way over 1400M and crossing the line eleven-lengths to the good. He is up in class here but could prove too good again. (7) JEONSEOLUISUNGAN was a winner on debut last October but then took a couple of goes to get accustomed to this level. He seems to have figured it out now and comes in off a runner-up finish over this distance on December 29th when settling midfield and running on. It was a quick time, and a repeat performance will see him in the finish again. (9) DOCTOR LEO remains a maiden after six attempts, but he has three 2nd places to his name and has never been outside the top five. He comes back in trip here and should be there or thereabouts again. (8) GRAY QUEEN and (2) VOLCANO GRIT others who can enter the calculations.

Selections (6) Sincheon First (7) Jeonseoluisungan (9) Doctor Leo (8) Gray Queen

Busan Race 6: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(1) MADE HEEMANG got his maiden win over this distance last September before running 4th when drawn wide for his first try at this class over 1300M in October. He has had fifteen weeks off since so he comes in fresh, and he can win here. After a plain trial, (9) JEILIYA wasn't fancied at all on debut on December 29th, but he proceeded to lead every step of the way and score. He comes up in class here but based on that effort, he should fit right in at this level. (3) MY MELODY and (10) AMUR come in having finished 2nd and 3rd respectively when they race one another a class and distance on Christmas Eve. Amur has since run again, finishing 4th, and both should be competitive here. (8) VELOCIRAPTOR among plenty of others with placing chances.

Selections (1) Made Heemang (9) Jeiliya (3) My Melody (10) Amur

Busan Race 7: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(11) GLORY CROWN shapes as the one to beat here. He got rapidly promoted to this class with back-to-back wins in October and November and has since registered two 3rd place finishes at 1400M and a mile, beating a few of today's rivals in the process. His running style suggests that the step up to racing around two-turns can suit and he can settle back and run on here. (9) MULTI HIT was 5th behind Glory Crown over 1600M on December 31st. He has already placed this distance and should be one of the main dangers. (1) PILGRIM defied big odds to run 2nd at class and distance on December 1st with three of today's rivals – including Multi Hit – behind him. He may bot be a winning chance here but under a light weight he can be used on a place line. (7) CHOEGANG MARINE and (2) MILK DAY others in the frame.

Selections (11) Glory Crown (9) Multi Hit (1) Pilgrim (7) Choegang Marine

Busan Race 8: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(4) MOTO MOTO is a perfect four for four leading all the way on every occasion. Most recently over this distance at class 4 level on December 22nd. He takes another step up in class here but draws well and gets in nicely at the weights and he has every chance of maintaining that 100% record. There are a couple more than capable of knocking him off though. (7) BIWOL got his maiden win at start number two in Korea Sprint-winning time over 1200M on December 15th. He comes up to 1400M for the first time, but that manner of that victory suggests he must be taken seriously. (10) SOUTHERN SUPERONE comes up in class having won his latest two in fine style. They were both at this distance and he looks sure to be competitive at this level too. (5) GOBLIN and (2) DOCTOR OSCAR round out the other leading chances in a competitive finale.

Selections (4) Moto Moto (7) Biwol (10) Southern Superone (5) Goblin
