Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies only in this maiden and (8) PINK GOLD is the pick and probable favourite. She showed on pace on debut over this distance on January 6th, ultimately coming home in 5th place. She should have come on for that run and this time can go all the way. (5) ROYAL PLUS has raced twice already, improving to 4th at the second time of asking. Her times have been slow but that seems to be a trend at the moment, and she shapes as the main danger. The exposed form drops off significantly after those two so it really is taking your pick as to who might improve. (7) HERO NARA wasn't horrible on debut and along with (3) TAP DIA and (2) SEMYOUNG GHOST, the latter 6th on debut in a fair time, seem the most likely.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(7) YEONGGWANGUI WORLD will be one of the shorter priced favourites of the day. After running 6th on debut in November, he overcame gate eleven to race handy and finish 3rd in a good time over 1200M on New Year's Eve. He comes into a better gate today, the additional half furlong can suit, and he should have too much. (8) EUNPA JOY has shown progress in his latest couple with a 5th and 4th, both at 1200M. He has the fastest final furlong among the field, and he can be a danger late on here. (10) FLYING COMMAND has a 3rd place to her name and while it was recorded two starts back in restricted filly-only company, it is enough to put her in the placing frame here. (11) LONDON BISANG and (5) LONDON GOLD are others to consider for the minors.

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(5) SPRIT FIGHTER has a 2nd and a 3rd from his latest two, most recently over this distance on January 12th when racing handy and running on. He can sit just behind the speed here and has as good a chance as any. (11) MIRACLE MARINE won a December trial before finishing 3rd over 1200M on debut on January 5th. He should have come on for that run and with some natural improvement he will be in the mix. (8) AWESOME SUNRISE has three top-five finishes from five starts so far, including his latest over this distance on January 7th. That was a monumentally slow race, but she had previously gone quicker over this distance and that's enough to put her in the frame here. (10) HEUIMANG FLYING and (7) HI LEGEND others in the hunt.

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(2) BAEDARI HYANGGI comes in off a 5th and a 4th from her latest two, over 1200M and 1300M, both times coming from well off the pace. She draws nicely here and as such, she may be ridden a little further forward than in those races, and stepped up to 1400M for the first time, she can win. (4) WONDERFUL SPIRIT has raced just three times and enters off her best so far when 3rd at 1200M. She has been doing her best work late on each time and she should relish the additional furlong that she has to play with today. (8) JECHUK ILHO is a bit more experienced. He was 3rd on his latest start, which came over this distance on January 7th when settling midfield and a similar performance should put him in the mix again. (10) STUNNING SERVE and (3) DAEMUL SOCKS other placing chances.

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies only in this maiden. (3) DAEJIUIYEOJEONSA has made steady progress across four starts so far, culminating with a runner-up finish over this distance on January 5th when handy throughout. She draws very nicely here and today could be her day. She'll be disputing favourite status with (7) NONSTOP DUTY. She too has improved, in her case over the course of five starts, and her times have been superior. Most recently, she ran 3rd over 1200M on December 29th when she was on pace throughout, and she is sure to be a danger here. (4) UNJU TOP has a 3rd place over this distance to her nae and then ran 5th from a wide gate over 1200M last time out on New Year's Eve. From a better draw, she can go close. (1) CHEONHA GEONGANG and (9) BROWN FALCON among others in the placing frame.

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(4) PURGE KING has five top-five finishes from seven starts so far, with his win coming at 1300M at class 6 level. He enters off a 4th place at class and distance in a fair time on January 13th when he settled midfield and ran on and in this company, he looks to be the one to beat. (5) GANGHAN NURI comes up in class after two runner-up finishes. The most recent of those was in one of the slowest 1300M races in history, but on a quicker track he had shown speed on debut. He is down in the weights and there is no reason he can't measure up in this company. (12) MYEONGSEONG CHUKJE was a winner on debut and has since registered a 6th and a 5th at this class, both at 1300M in fair times. He has better early speed than most of these so despite the wide draw, he may well be on pace and in this a long way. (8) HEART K was a winner at this distance on January 7th and comes up in class and he, along with (7) SEMYEONG LADY, who has won at this class and distance, are others in the hunt.

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Competitive race. (11) LIGHT BROWN comes up in class having made all to win over this distance in an all-filly affair on January 5th. She is nicely weighted and while she does draw a touch wider than ideal, if she gets a bit of luck at the start, she can be on pace and a repeat isn't impossible. (2) SAMAKUI KKOT won at start number two before enduing a challenging day at the office for her first try at this class on New Year's Eve when showing on pace but weakening late She is slightly back in trip, she draws nicely, and she is worth another chance. (5) META PRINCESS comes up in class following a maiden win at start number two on December 29th when handy throughout. She can be expected to be on pace here and she can measure up. (10) GUKDAE HERO and (12) EVERY KING IJI are others who can enter the calculations on a place line.

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

This is a good race for the level. (3) BLACK BELT is yet to finish outside of the top-five in five starts and enters having finished in 5th place on what was his first try around two turns on January 21st when he showed on pace before dropping back and then rallying again. He returns just two weeks later and should have benefited from that experience, and he can win here. (2) RAON THE DAESE is a promising filly, who tackles two-turns for the first time. She was last seen running 3rd in a blanket finish at this class over 1400M on January 6th when coming from off the pace, and the step up in trip may well suit. (5) K N TIZWON is yet to win in seventeen attempts but has finished between 2nd and 4th on no fewer than eleven occasions. He has been 2nd and 4th in his latest two, both at class and distance and he should be there or thereabouts again. (11) DIVINE FUTURES and (8) MADE STAR others in the hunt.

Busan Race 4: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

After a 2nd and a 3rd from his opening two races, (10) HWANGGEUMSEONG is rapidly up in class having won back-to-back races at this distance on late October and in December. This is undoubtedly tougher, but he comes down in the weights and a hat-trick is possible. The main danger and possible favourite is (4) SUCCESSFUL. After winning at class 5 level last July, he didn't race again until December when he was 3rd at this class and distance. He then followed up with a 4th place over 1400M on January 7th. He has never finished any worse than 5th and third-up this preparation, he could well be peaking fitness-wise. (9) CATALINA MARINE is an import, who began at this level. She didn't do much in her first two outings but after winning a trial in December she then beat three of these when 3rd at class and distance on January 7th and she can match or better than here. (7) MAN OF THE KING, one of those behind Catalina Marine in that race, and (8) HANSEN COD GIRL, who returns to action for the first time since last June and won a trial just last week, are others to consider.

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(2) BRAVO PLAY races for the first time since finishing down the field behind Lala K in the Listed NACF Chairman's Trophy for juveniles in November. Prior to that he was a strong winner over this distance at class 6 level and after a couple of months rest and coming back into more amenable company – as well as getting a good draw – he looks the one to beat. (6) STUNNING SKY is yet to win in three starts but was promoted to this level with back-to-back runner-up finishes from his opening two outings, before running 4th on his first try at this class in the snow on December 30th. He remains nicely weighted and should be competitive again. (8) HWANGWOO GANGJA is yet to win in twenty attempts but enters with recent form reading positively with two 4th places from his latest two and this is the kind of race he can pick up a cheque in. (5) GANA POWER and (3) BEST CLONE the other logical placing chances.

Busan Race 5: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

Fascinating race for the level. Coming back to 1800M, we'll keep faith with (6) ARCTURUS. He was a class and distance winner two starts back in October when he made all and while he was a beaten favourite at 1400M on his return in November, the two-turns seems to now be more his go. He carries his fair share of weight, but he comes in relatively fresh and should be available at a decent price. (2) SUCCESS TIME ran 2nd to Wonderful Slew and ahead of Triple Tiara winner Jeulgeounyeojeong in the G3 Gyeongnam Governor's Cup for fillies and mares in October before running 4th in the Listed Breeders' Cup Queen in December. Coming into regular company today, she is a real danger. (4) RAON THE HARLEY was well back behind Arcturus in October but followed up with a 2nd place at class and distance on December 3rd and should be on pace and in the mix here. (9) EUNSEONG WINNER and (7) DEMON SPY others who it would be no surprise to see come out on top.

Seoul Race 7: Class 3 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(6) JEONGSANG ACE was a winner at start number two over 1200M in November before running 2nd at 1200M in a quick race on Christmas Day. He comes up in class today but is significantly down in weight and the step up to a mile can suit. (5) UPTOWN WHIZ has already placed a couple of times at this class and enters off a 4th place at this distance on December 10th when overcoming the widest gate. He went through a trial last week, which he won in good order, and he can win here. Plenty of others have solid claims too in a good race. (10) HERO FIGHTER has only raced five times but was a class and distance 2nd on December 30th and remains very competitively weighted. (3) RAON AMERICAN and (7) NEULGAEUL others who would be no surprise to see on top.

Busan Race 6: Class 1 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million

(11) GANGSEO GIANT will be hot favourite to return to the winner's circle here. She was a beaten favourite on December 3rd at class and distance when getting a long way back, ad while she draws a wide gate again, she should be a little further forward here and can win. That will mean overturning the form on (4) HAPPY FEVER, who ran 2nd in that race and has since run twice more, most recently runner-up at this class over 1200M on January 14th, when as is his style, settling back and running on. He carries plenty of weight again but shouldn't be ruled out. (1) CHOEGANG SSONSAL was a winner at this class in a very quick race over 1200M in December before running 4th behind Happy Fever on January 14th. His recent work has been at 1200M, but he has fast times to his name at this distance too and he can be a danger. (7) PRO CONSUL and the returning (8) FLAT BABE, who looked well when winning a trial just before Christmas, are among others to keep safe on a place line.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Good race with no fewer than eight of the twelve entering having either won or finished as runner-up in their respective latest starts. Favourite to prevail here will be (7) BLUE LEMON, who was 5th in the Listed Gwacheon Mayor's Trophy for juvenile fillies in December before kicking off her three-year-old career with 2nd at this class and distance on January 6th. She has a smart start and finish on her, and she is the one to beat. (9) RIVER TAEYANG was a winner at this class over 1400M on January 6th, racing handy throughout. He comes up 3kg in the weights here but has every chance of backing up. (8) BLACK MOTION is yet to finish any worse than 5th from seven career starts. He has posted a good time for this distance and third-up this preparation can be at his best. (11) YEONGWON FIGHTER races for the fist time since June but looked sharp in a December trial and can be competitive. The up in class (6) WORLD SHANNONS another in the hunt.

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(4) GEOLJAK CHOEGANG is yet to win in five attempts, but the Preservationist colt has been getting closer and enters off a narrow defeat over 1400M on January 6th when he overcame gate eleven to lead for much of the way around. He comes back in trip and into a much better gate, and today can be his day. (6) TAEPYEONG FIGHTER has four runner-up finishes among six starts so far, including her latest three up to this class. She has been back to trial since her latest outing, winning her heat, and under a light weight, she should be close here. (1) MUNHAK EAGLE was a winner over this distance at class 5 level two starts back before running 3rd on her first try at this class on January 6th. She comes up 2kg in the weights but that's balanced by an excellent draw, and she will surely be on the early speed. (11) TAEKHAN and (2) MIRACLE HANGANG are other placing chances.

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(2) SPO BLADE was a winner at this class over a mile last November and has since run 2nd at 1400M and 3rd at 1800M. He carries his fair share of weight here, but he draws well, and he is one of the main chances here. (4) NAUI NARA won over this distance at class 4 level two starts back before finishing 3rd on his first try at this level on December 30th. He comes up slightly in the weights here but can settle behind the speed and prove a danger at the business end. (12) BULUI NALGAE comes up in class following a win over this on Christmas Eve. That was a very slow race, but he had previously posted competitive times for the 1800M, and he comes down significantly in the weights. He has a good finish on him so the wide draw shouldn't be a problem. (1) MONEY GARAK and (10) BEST SUN among plenty of others with realistic designs on the places.

Seoul Race 11: Class 1 (2300M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million

The rarely used Grand Prix Stakes distance of 2300M gets an early airing this year. (12) BRIGADIER GENERAL did nothing at level weights in the Grand Prix in December but won the last regular handicap over the distance last October, which a lot of these ran in. He ran in January, coming from off the pace to run 3rd at 2000M and under a light weight, he can win this. (1) CHIEF INDY similarly did nothing in the Grand Prix, having also done nothing in the President's Cup a month earlier. He was 3rd behind Brigadier General in the October race, and again, back under handicap conditions, he can be a danger. (2) LIL' PATRON was 2nd in the October race, splitting Brigadier General and Chief Indy. He hasn't raced since but while he does carry his fair share of weight, he can be competitive. (8) DORAON POPEYE has also won at this distance and should be in the mix again under a feather weight. (3) MONSTER K is up in class but may provide some each-way interest.
