Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

(8) STUNNING FLATTER didn't catch the eye in trials but instead saved it for races, running a good 3rd on debut on January 7th over this distance, settling back and running on. He should have derived benefit from that experience and with some natural improvement, he is the one to beat here. (12) STAR CHANGER has made progress across four starts so far and enters off a close 3rd place in a slow race over this distance on January 14th. The wide draw shouldn't be a problem and she can get closer this time. (4) SOLAIRE has a 3rd and a 4th from his latest two, both at 1300M. He has the best finish on him among these and can be a danger late. (10) BLUE RACER and debut-maker (3) MR. TROT others who may feature.

Selections (8) Stunning Flatter (12) Star Changer (4) Solaire (10) Blue Racer

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(4) CHEONMA BULPAE comes in having beaten a couple of these on his way to a to date best finish of 3rd over this distance on January 21st when racing handy throughout. He is under the same weight today and comes out of the same gate and with Breux climbing up, he can make the breakthrough. (5) FLYING KING has been getting steadily better across four starts, culminating in 3rd place last time over 1300M. He comes up to the 1400M for the first time today and should be on pace and in this a long way. (1) BLOOD MOUNTAIN was 4th behind Cheonma Bulpae in that January 21st race, coming from off the pace. That was his best finish so far and he should be there or thereabouts again. (6) CRAZE CHANG and (12) TONNERRE others in at least the placing frame.

Selections (4) Cheonma Bulpae (5) Flying King (1) Blood Mountain (6) Craze Chang

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Three first-time starters in this field and we'll take a chance on one of them (1) THE GREY MAN ran 2nd in a quick trial two weeks ago, running on pace. He draws nicely to be on pace and the apprentice engaged means both a light weight and probably a slightly better price than otherwise. (9) WORLD MAID CAT will probably jump as the favourite. She came from well off the pace to run 2nd over this distance on debut on January 12th with a couple of today's opponents behind her. She should have come on for that run and can be a big danger late on here. (6) YEONGGWANGUI ROSE ran 4th behind World Maid Cat in that race having led for much of the way. She should be on pace, and she too should show some natural improvement. (4) MR.KEYMAN and (12) MASTER ROAD are others who have hinted at ability and can be considered.

Selections (1) The Grey Man (9) World Maid Cat (6) Yeonggwangui Rose (4) Mr.Keyman

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Weak maiden here. (4) ASSI JANGGUN has a 2nd place to her name over 1200M in a decent time back in December when coming from off the pace. She wasn't completely horrible when 6th on her return on January 14th and won't need much improvement to win this. (5) YEONGWON POTEN overcame a wide draw and a slow start to run on for a midfield finish on debut on January 6th. With a bit more experience, a better draw and hopefully, a better start, she can get much closer here. (3) GALSAEK DOJEONJA has a 3rd place to his name over the distance and while he has been ordinary in two subsequent starts, that's enough to put him in contention in this company. (2) AWESOME BRAIN did nothing on debut on New Year's Eve but has since been back to trial and looked better. (6) FEDERAL PRESS another who may improve.

Selections (4) Assi Janggun (5) Yeongwon Poten (3) Galsaek Dojeonja (2) Awesome Brain

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(1) YEONGGWANGUIFIRST ran 2nd on debut on a quick time over 1000M but then didn't reappear until January 12th when from the widest gate, he was 4th over this distance. He should strip fitter this time and from a much better gate, he is the one to beat. That will mean overturning the form on (5) ILMANG BLUE, who ran 2nd in that January 12th race, albeit well beaten by a good winner. That was her best result in eleven starts so far and she can aim to match it here. (3) ROAD TO WARRIOR was an on-pace 3rd on debut on January 19th over this distance. He draws well to be on the speed again and can be in this a long way. (2) ANY SINGS has been back to trial since her latest and along with (8) HAERANG YOUNGUNG, has a decent chance for minor money.

Selections (1) Yeonggwanguifirst (5) Ilmang Blue (3) Road To Warrior (2) Any Sings

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies and mares only. (2) MAGIC PLEASURE got her maiden win at start number three over 1200M in an all-filly maiden on January 27th when settling handy and running on in a fair time. She comes up in class but is down in the weights, draws well, and can win again. (3) SEONGSIL DAERO got her maiden win two starts back over 1200M in dominant fashion leading all the way. She then ran a very solid 3rd on her first try at this class on January 21st in a very similar race to this over 1200M. She comes up to 1300M for the first time and she is a big danger. (10) QUERER is up in class having won a very weak maiden on January 20th. She will need a touch of luck to find the front from a wide position, but if she can get forward, she can place. (9) FOUR ACE and (1) TAEPYEONGMU other placing hopes.

Busan Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Masa Tanaka got among the winners on Friday and the returning Japanese rider can notch another here on (1) OVER ENERGY. The colt ran twice last summer, finishing 3rd on both occasions before being ruled out for the season. He looked very well though in a late December trial and from a great draw, he can put in a bold showing first-up. The spell will be a concern though, so for race-fitness, (11) BREEDO WIZARD is the one to go for. After a pair of 4th places, he ran 3rd at start number three over this distance on January 21st, leading for most of the way and beating three of today's rivals in the process. He draws a touch wider than ideal but has every chance here. (2) SHACKLE ZONE has run on for 2nd and 4th in his latest two and may appreciate the slight step up in trip. (3) HAEUNDAE SUNSHINE and (7) WONDERFUL ONE are others in contention for the minors.

Selections (1) Over Energy (11) Breedo Wizard (2) Shackle Zone (3) Haeundae Sunshine

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(2) ARCH CLASS shapes as the one to beat. Her maiden win came at this distance last September and she comes in following back-to-back 3rd places, always racing handy. She draws well to be close to the pace again and she could have too much. The main danger is (5) ZIRCON. She has just one win from sixteen starts but is working up to another with two consecutive runner-up finishes at this class and distance at the turn of the year. An apprentice takes 3kg off and she is a big chance here. (4) CHAMJOEUN INYEON remains winless but comes up in class following two runner-up finishes at 1200M and 1300M. She has a strong finish and the very light weight she carries should allow her to be competitive here. (6) YUKWAEHAN SARANG and (9) CHEONGGYE GISANG are others to keep safe.

Busan Race 4: Class 5 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies (and one mare) only here and (6) FLYING RACER narrowly gets the verdict. After winning on debut last October, she ha run 4th and 3rd in two starts at this class, most recently on January 12th when handy throughout over 1300M. The step up to a mile can suit and she can win. That will mean overturning the form on (8) ARION QUEEN, who was a somewhat surprising winner of that January 12th race when she led throughout. She comes up 2kg in the weights, but with not much speed on her inside, she can lead again and can be in this a long way. (2) HAMA enters off a runner-up finish at class and distance on January 19th when coming from off the pace and while up in the weights, should be close. (11) B.K. WARRIOR was a winner at this class over 1300M last time out and warrants respect while the up in class (9) DAY BY DAY is another possible.

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(12) HERE I AM has a 5th and a 3rd in two starts at this level since his maiden win over 1200M last November. He has proven tactically versatile, and he looks ready to take the step up to two-turns for the first time and can win. (3) SMART CLAIR also has a first go around two turns. He is up in class after a win over 1300M on January 20th when handy and running on and down in the weights and nicely drawn, he should be close. (10) CHOEGANG NICE was a class and distance winner on January 28th, racing just behind the pace throughout. He comes up 2.5 kg in the weights, and has a much wider draw than last time, but he can be in the mix again. (2) YONGBI POWER and (9) AREUMDAUN SAI are others who can enter the calculations.

Selections (12) Here I Am (3) Smart Clair (10) Choegang Nice (2) Yongbi Power
Next Best 9, 7

Busan Race 5: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

Fillies (and two mares) only here. (3) LADY VADER won two of four starts last year, most recently over 1400M at class 5 level in August when she led all the way. She hasn't raced since, but she was quick when making  all in a January trial. She is drawn well here and while she needs this, she has every chance first-up. The main danger is (10) POCKET MILLION. She secured back-to-back wins in October and November at 1300M to get promoted to this level before finishing 2nd on her first try at this class over 1200M on Christmas Eve. She likes to lead all the way, so she may need a touch of luck at the start from the wide gate, but she should be close. (11) AREUMDAUN INYEON races for the first time since last May but she looked very well when winning a trial at the start of this month and a bold showing first-up is possible. (9) SANGIM YEOWANG and (7) SAMBA STEP among plenty of others with at least placing chances.

Selections (3) Lady Vader (10) Pocket Million (11) Areumdaun Inyeon (9) Sangim Yeowang

Seoul Race 7: Class Open (1200M) Special Weight A / Segye Ilbo Trophy (Listed) / KRW 300 Million

The long road to the Korea Sprint starts here and the sprinting division needs some new stars. Not sure we'll find them here though as (9) DAEHAN JILJU looks a strong favourite. He was 6th behind Japan's Remake in the international Korea Sprint last September before running 3rd to Eoma Eoma and Calm Strong in the Listed Kookje Shinmun over 1400M at Busan in November. He looked well enough in a January trial tune-up and at his best should have too much for this lot. (12) VICS GO is not necessarily a sprinter with his recent campaigning being done at 2000M including a creditable 6th in the G1 President's Cup. He does though have a lot of quality about him, and he should be competitive here. (1) SAENAE QUEEN is one of few up and comers. She was a winner over this distance at class 2 level last time out and while she is yet to be tested in this kind of company, she gets a filly allowance and a great draw to get to the lead. (6) RAON TAP MAN has been overmatched in elite company in his latest two – this isn't elite company so he can go better today – and along with (7) DAEJI CHOICE is another to look out for.

Selections (9) Daehan Jilju (12) Vics Go (1) Saenae Queen (6) Raon Tap Man

Busan Race 6: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(11) JEONGMUN COBIT comes in having won his latest two at 1400M and a mile, the latest at this class on January 21st when beating a couple of today's rivals. He comes up 4kg in the weights and also up to two turns, but a hat-trick isn't out of the question. (6) GRAND SUN is the danger. He was sent off as the favourite for that January 21st race but was slowly away and got a long way back before rallying for 5th. The weight swing is in his favour and he can be given another chance today. (2) YASAENGHWA dead-heated for 3rd place in that same race having shown on pace throughout. She has already placed at this distance too and from a good gate can be on the speed and in this a long way. (5) ZETTA DREAM and (12) YEONGCHEON SOLEMIO other possibles.

Selections (11) Jeongmun Cobit (6) Grand Sun (2) Yasaenghwa (5) Zetta Dream

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(2) SMART TAEYANG has won his latest two over 1300M and coming from off the pace to get promoted to this level. He draws nicely, is fairly weighted, and he will be favoured to make it three in a row. (1) HIDDEN BRAIN has six top-three finishes from twelve starts including her latest when 3rd at this class and distance, having overcome the widest gate to settle midfield. She carries a light weight and draws much better this time and should be in the frame. (7) RAON EMPIRE has mixed her form, but she was a class and distance winner two starts back and can be a factor here. (5) FRESH MAN is a winner of two from four and comes up in class. He should be on the speed and can measure up at this level. (4) NINE EAGLE will need a line through his latest but is another who can be competitive.

Selections (2) Smart Taeyang (1) Hidden Brain (7) Raon Empire (5) Fresh Man

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(8) NICE CHEETAH was a smart winner at start number two in a very similar race to this on January 20th when she led from gate to wire. She comes in under a similar weight she should lead again, and the Bolt D'Oro filly can make it two in a row. (12) MORNING DAOL was a class and distance winner last November on debut. He has run fairly in two starts since and while he draws the widest gate, he still has potential improvement in him, and can be given a chance here. (4) MISS CHARLIE is yet to win but enters off a 2nd and a 3rd from her latest two, coming from a handy position both times over 1300M and she can do similar here. (1) CONCORD QUEEN and (10) DREAM RIDGE among others in the placing frame.

Selections (8) Nice Cheetah (12) Morning Daol (4) Miss Charlie (1) Concord Queen

Seoul Race 10: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(6) TAEPYEONG HERO hasn't finished any worse than 3rd in six starts to date and enters off back-to-back victories over 1400M and most recently at this class and distance on January 7th when he raced handy. He has proven tactically versatile and while he comes up a full 4kg in the weights today, he is the one to beat again. This is a good race though with none of the twelve having finished any worse than 6th in their respective latest outings. (7) GEUMA CHIC was a winner at class and distance in December and has a 2nd and a 3rd in two starts since. An apprentice claim keeps his weight low, and he should be a factor here. (4) GANGPUNGMA is a winner of three from seven and comes up to two turns for the first time. He carries his fair share of weight, but he draws well and should go close. (2) GRAND SILVER and (3) LUCKY POWER among plenty of others in the hunt.

Selections (6) Taepyeong Hero (7) Geuma Chic (4) Gangpungma (2) Grand Silver

Seoul Race 11: Class 2 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

Competitive finale. We keep saying this, but it really is about time (6) RAON FOREST returns to the winner's circle. She comes in off a 3rd place (when favourite) over a mile on January 7th but coming back up to two-turn racing may be what she needs to get back on top. (5) FALL IN LOVE has won three in a row coming into this with the most recent being over a mile on December 30th when she came from off the pace. She has won from the front too and while she is up in class and in distance here, she is lightly weighted and a fourth on the spin shouldn't be ruled out. (9) MIGHTY CHIP is second up after a lengthy absence and may be worth a chance at an each-way price, while (1) HANGANGUI GISANG and (7) DOKKI BULPAE are others who can have a say.

Selections (6) Raon Forest (5) Fall In Love (9) Mighty Chip (1) Hangangui Gisang
