Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

(7) STAR CHANGER is the one to beat in the opener. She comes in having run 3rd in both her latest two, both over this distance and most recently in a quick time on February 18th when close to the pace throughout. She'll be on the speed again here and will take some beating. (2) BUNDANG TSUNAMI has actually recorded a just as quick time for the distance as Star Changer. That came when running 4th back last October. We need to draw a line through his latest when he had a hard time from a wide gate, and from a much better draw, he shapes as the main danger. (9) JEONGSEONG VICE will also need a line drawn through his latest, but he is the only one in the field to have a runner-up finish to his name and that's enough to put him in the numbers here. First time starter (1) BLACK SIDAE along with (6) ALL EYES ON ME are others to consider.

Selections (7) Star Changer (2) Bundang Tsunami (9) Jeongseong Vice (1) Black Sidae

Seoul Race 2: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(3) YEONGGWANGUI WORLD got his maiden win at start number three on February 4th when making all over this distance. He comes up in class but is slightly down in the weights, he draws nicely, and he can win again. (9) LONDON VICTORY has near identical form, winning at the third time of asking having made progress from his debut. In his case, his victory came on January 21st over 1200M when settling handy and running on and similarly there is no reason why he can't measure up in this company. (10) SSEULMO is yet to win in ten attempts but has six top-four finishes including a very narrow 2nd at this class over 1200M two starts back. That was followed by a 3rd place at this distance, and he should be there or thereabouts again. (8) HERO JEONSA and (1) KOREA GOLD other placing chances.

Selections (3) Yeonggwangui World (9) London Victory (10) Sseulmo (8) Hero Jeonsa

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies only in this maiden and while it isn't strong that does make for plenty of chances. (12) SEOGWI STAR has hinted at ability across three starts so far and has the fastest time among those who have tackled this distance before. She has the challenge of the widest gate but with a bit of luck at the start, she can find a forward position and she can win. (4) SAVAGE GIRL has shown steady progress over her latest few including back-to-back 4th places in her most recent appearances. She can be a touch one-paced, but she is nicely drawn to sit prominently in the field and can shake plenty off. (5) RAID HIT has a 5th and a 4th in tow starts so far and while her times haven't been quick that's enough to put her in contention here. (7) DIA GRIT and (8) ARA NURI others in the hunt.

Selections (12) Seogwi Star (4) Savage Girl (5) Raid Hit (7) Dia Grit

Seoul Race 3: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies and mares only here. (7) GOLDBERG got her maiden win two starts back over 1200M racing handily before getting caught back on her first try at this level on February 3rd, ultimately running on for 5th. She tackles the 1400M for the first time, but given her running style it can suit, and she can spear the field here. The main danger is (5) BEOLGYO CHADOL. She was an emphatic all the way winner over 1200M on December 17th, despite veering badly towards the stand side in the closing stages and getting sent back to trial. She didn't run on when tried at this class for the first time on January 27th, but evidently has talent and is worth another chance here. (10) MYUNGJINBULLPAI similarly had a very ordinary day at the office on her first try at this class on February 3rd but had shown plenty of ability when winning over 1300M in December and should be closer today. (3) VELVETY and (4) DONGHAENG FIRST others who can enter the calculations.

Selections (7) Goldberg (5) Beolgyo Chadol (10) Myungjunbullpai (3) Velvety

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1600M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

After an indifferent debut, (3) HUNTER DRAGON stepped quickly up to a mile at start number two on February 23rd and seemed to immediately thrive at it, running an improved 2nd having led for most of the way. He draws nicely here and won't need to improve much at all to win here.  (5) MOUNTAIN DADDY overcame gate ten to run 3rd over 1300M on February 18th at what was start number four for him. A previous effort at a mile saw him lead before going back through the field in the closing stages but he should be ready for another crack at it with a better gate and Seo Seung-un climbing on. (8) ILNYEOM SINHWA and (4) ILCHUL GOLD came home 5th and 6th respectively when they raced each other at class and distance on February 16th and both should be aiming to get a bit closer this time. (7) DORAON ZETTA another in the hunt for the places.

Selections (3) Hunter Dragon (5) Mountain Dady (8) Ilnyeom Sinhwa (4) Ilchul Gold

Seoul Race 4: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(9) BRIGHT HANSEN is two for two having picked up two front-running wins over 1200M to come up rapidly in class. The latest of those was back on December 17th so she comes in off a twelve-week layoff but despite that, and that it was in all-filly company, the manner of the nine-length score suggests that she has to go on top again. (10) STAR TREK was a good winner over 1300M on January 21st when leading all the way. He comes up in class but is down in the weights and should be able to measure up. Another up and comer is (8) CITY KING. He didn't win at class 5 but comes up following a 3rd and a 2nd place, both at this distance in fair times. He comes down significantly in the weights and should be challenging on the speed here. As for the more experienced ones, (11) TEN BAGGER is rarely far away and Moon Se-young climbing on will tempt plenty. (4) RAON THE CHARLIE another in the frame.

Selections (9) Bright Hansen (10) Star Trek (8) City King (11) Ten Bagger

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(12) TENGRE is the probable favourite. He got his win at start number three over this distance on December 15th, making all, and then led for most of the way before weakening late, again over 1200M, on his first try at this class on January 12th. He has had eight weeks off since then so comes in fresh and while he faces the challenge of the widest gate, he can win. It's take your pick from the rest. (7) GREEN CHIEF is winless from seven, but she has consistently sat handy and run on and could make for some appeal at an each-way (or better) price. (5) YONGSAN KEUNBYEUL comes in off a 4th place at this class over 1400M and won't need to improve much to get closer in this company. The up in class (2) TRIPLE AXEL, along with (6) MADE HEEMANG, are others to consider.

Selections (12) Tengre (7) Green Chief (5) Yongsan Keunbyeol (2) Triple Axel

Seoul Race 5: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(3) URUS KHAN was a winner on debut before running 2nd on both his tries at class 5 level over 1300M and 1400M. That brings him up in class again today but significantly down in the weights and from a great draw, he should be on pace from the start, and he can go all the way. (5) VINCERO CAVALLO was a coast-to-coast winner over 1300M at class 5 level in December before kicking off his three-year-old campaign with a 4th place at this class, again at 1300M at on January 6th. He will be expected to be on the speed here and can be in this a long way. (11) EOSEOWA has plenty of experience at this level including a 3rd place at class and distance two starts back and this is the kind of race, he can pick up a cheque in. (10) BEST JEONSA and (6) CHALLANHAN BULKKOT among other placing contenders.

Selections (3) Urus Khan (5) Vincero Cavallo (11) Eoseowa (10) Best Jeonsa
Next Best 6, 7

Busan Race 4: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

There was a full eleven months between (10) WISE KING's debut and his second start, but he won them both in fine fashion to be rapidly promoted to this class. He suffered his first reverse when tried at a mile for his first go at class 4, leading but not seeing things out, but he comes back in trip today and he can return to the winner's circle. (6) ABERLOUR returns to action for the first time since last September when he ran 2nd over this distance on his first try at this level. He trialled up well a month ago and has every chance of a bold first-up showing. (12) RAON STRONG is up in class having won over a mile on January 19th. He has only finished outside of the top-four on one occasion and while he has to contend with the widest gate, he is down in the weights and in with a chance. (3) JEONSEOLUISUNGAN and (9) HONOR CAL among others to consider.

Selections (10) Wise King (6) Aberlour (12) Raon Strong (3) Jeonseoluisungan

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(10) SEGWANG FIGHTER ran a strong 2nd at this class over 1700M two starts back before finishing a fair 5th of twelve in a slow race over this distance on February 24th. He continues under a light weight here, Moon Se-young climbs on and he can win. (6) CLUB D enters on a consistent run of form with three consecutive 3rd place finishes at this class, one of them over this distance. He will be on pace here and a place should be the minimum aim once again. (7) GLOBAL LUCKY is yet to win in forty attempts, and he probably won't win here either. He is though a model of consistency, with a 3rd and four 4th place finishes from his latest five. He should be there or thereabouts again. (5) TIZ ENERGY and (11) VISION POWER other minor money hopes.

Selections (10) Segwang Fighter (6) Club D (7) Global Lucky (5) Tiz Energy

Busan Race 5: Class Open (1200M) Weight for Age / Busan Ilbo Sprint (KOR G3) / KRW 500 Million

Another year, another Sprint Series and (5) EOMA EOMA is still the one to beat. He hasn't raced since winning the Listed Kookje Shinmun Trophy here over 1400M in November but looked well when trialling up on February 29th at Seoul. He gets a very good draw and while he may not be at his imperious best from a couple of years ago, he can still win. The only times that (12) SOMETHING LOST has tasted defeat is in the three legs of the Triple Crown last year. He then didn't run from the end of that series last July until reappearing on February 3rd when back down to a sprint distance, he romped away with a class 2 race over 1400M. Whether he is ready for the elite at level weights is open to question, but he could be the main danger. Veteran campaigners (4) SSONSAL and (14) DAEMANGUI GIL shouldn't be dismissed while (9) RAON THE POINT, a winner of six from eight, joins Something Lost as one of very few new contenders who look in with a chance of reaching the top of the division.

Selections (5) Eoma Eoma (12) Something Lost (4) Ssonsal (14) Daemangui Gil

Seoul Race 7: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(4) NEULGAEUL is the one to beat here. A winner at class 4 level over 1700M two starts back, he then ran a solid 2nd on his first try at this level when dropped back to a mile on February 4th, coming from off the pace. He only carries 1kg extra and the step up to 1800M can suit. (6) WONDERFUL INDY ran out the winner of a slow race at this class and distance on January 6th having been beaten by a few of these when favourite back in November. He carries his fair share of weight here, but he should be in the mix once again. (7) NAUI NARA won at this distance at class 4 level in November and in two subsequent efforts at this class has run a solid 3rd and 4th, both over this distance. He'll be close again today. (3) SEONGSIL INDONG and (5) WONDERFUL DEVIL others in at least the placing frame.

Selections (4) Neulgaeul (6) Wonderful Indy (7) Naui Nara (3) Seongsil Indong

Busan Race 6: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(5) ARCUTURUS was a class and distance winner back in October and has since run a 4th (when favourite) and 5th at 1400M and then back at 1800M. Once more he carries his fair share of weight, but he has the fastest time among these for the distance and in this company, he can come out on top. (11) RAON THE AGAIN returned on January 19th from almost five months off and continued on her merry way, scoring over 1400M at class 4 level to make it three wins from four starts. She comes up in class and in distance today but carries a light weight and should strip fitter for that January run. (12) MONGTTANG looked like he needed both his two starts back from an eleven-month layoff. His 7th of eleven at class and distance on January 7th was by no means a bad run and he too can be fitter this time out. (4) K GOLD BAR and (8) AREUMDAUN INYEON others in the hunt.

Selections (5) Arcturus (11) Raon The Again (12) Mongttang (4) K Gold Bar

Seoul Race 8: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

Since a poor showing when favourite on debut, (5) YEONGUNG BUHWAL has got his act firmly together with back-to-back eye-catching wins over 1200M, most recently at this class on January 27th when settling back and running on. His times have been quick and while he carries an additional 2.5 kg and comes up to 1400M for the first time, he should have too much again. (7) ECLAIRFURY won his first two starts at class 4 level to round out last year but then came unstuck when sent up to this class and distance on January 20th. The margins weren't huge, however, and he should have benefitted from the experience meaning he is worth another chance today. (3) EAST JUMP is up in class following a win at 1300M on January 28th when she practically made all. That win was coming and under a light weight, she can measure up here. (8) OKRYONG and (10) UWARYUNG are others to keep safe.

Selections (5) Yeongung Buhwal (7) Eclairfury (3) East Jump (8) Okryong

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

It's a toss up between the two widest drawn for top pick here. (10) BRAVO PLAY is a local bred who has rapidly won his way up to this class with two wins from four starts, including last time out over this distance at class 5 level when leading all the way. Given the wide draw, he may need a touch of luck at the start, but he has every chance of winning again. (11) FAIR SKIES is an American-bred import who has started at this level (as all imports are required to) and he has acquitted himself well with back-to-back runner-up finishes at 1200M and 1300M. He has raced on pace and should be in this a long way again. (7) ACE GUNJU beat three of these on his way to 3rd place at class and distance on February 4th and under the same light weight, can go close again. (6) TAEKHAN and (8) RAON THE FANTA also in the hunt.

Selections (10) Bravo Play (11) Fair Skies (7) Ace Gunju (6) Taekhan
Next Best 8, 1

Seoul Race 10: Class 2 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

(9) SPURT BIT is a winner of three from seven and comes up to this class for the first time, following a runner-up finish on his first try at this distance on January 28th. He comes down a full 5kg in the weights and must be taken seriously. Winning will mean beating the probable favourite, (7) GLOBAL YEONGUNG. The six-year-old is in the best form of his career with back-to-back wins at class 3 level followed up with a 4th and a 3rd in two tries at this class, most recently over this distance on January 13th. He likes to come from off the pace and will be doing his best work late on again here. (3) BEOLMAL DAEJANG mixes his form but is more than capable of mixing it in this company on his day and could provide some each-way interest. (8) LOVELY K and (5) MORNING HILL among other placing hopes.

Selections (9) Spurt Bit (7) Global Yeongung (3) Beolmal Daejang (8) Lovely K

Seoul Race 11: Class 1 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million

Given the manner in which (5) LEEWOLMA scored at class and distance on January 28th, leading all the way and then disappearing every further away, it is very hard to go past him here. True, he comes up 3.5kg in the weights, but if he runs anything like he did last time, he will have too much. (4) BOLT MAN was the one who got closest to Leewolma that day, finishing in 2nd place, five-lengths in arrears. He was first-up following a four-month layoff that day so he may strip fitter, and he gets a 3kg weight swing on the favourite and he can get a bit closer. The rest of the form doesn't read very convincingly. (9) MONSTER K struggled at 2300M last time but won at this distance at class 2 level in January. (10) JANGSAN LASER and (1) PARK WIN other place hopes.

Selections (5) Leewolma (4) Bolt Man (9) Monster K (10) Jangsan Laser
