The Red Sea Turf Handicap (G3) is run over 3,000m and is arguably the most competitive race on the card with many horses having credentials to win. It must be remembered this race is a handicap.

Subjectivist – Winner of his past three races but well-spaced apart. Scored in the 2020 Prix Royal Oak (G1) in France over 3100m and then won the 3200m Dubai Gold Cup (G2) at Meydan the following March. He was last seen when victorious in the Ascot Gold Cup (G1) over 4000m in 2021. This form summarises his chances – the horse to beat.

Trawlerman – Trainer knows where to place his horses to suit their ability. Winner of two UK 2800m races last summer before G2 third at Ascot over 3200m in October in his first Black-Type race. Expect a good run.

Enemy – Has won to 2800m in a restricted race in Scotland. Is a last start 2400m winner at Meydan but this is his biggest test to date.

Al Qareem – Progressive three-year-old stayer last season winning over 3000m in a G2 at Longchamp (FR) in October. Has the ability to be in the finish notably with Ryan Moore riding.

Big Call – French trained G3 Longchamp (FR) 3100m winner in September before failing on a very heavy track later that month. This is much harder, but he has shown enough to warrant consideration.

Get Shirty – Has struggled previously when moving up in grade to Black-Type races and faces a number of imposing rivals.

Silver Sonic – Japanese proven stayer and last start G2 winner over 3600m. Will makes his presence felt and should be respected.

Sisfahan – German trained but is well travelled. Italian G2 winner over 2400m in November but has yet to be tried over longer distances and did suffer a slight setback this week.

My Frankel – Has been based in Riyadh for twelve months and domestic G2 winner two starts ago in December over 2400m. Yet to race further. Looks up against it.

Nate The Great – Not seen since Listed 3200m winner at Newmarket (UK) in September. Now a seven-year-old, he faces a big task.

Echt – Yet to race further than when victorious over 2600m in Japan. Had a 2200m trial run one month ago when second. Interesting contender.

Master Gatsby – French G3 3000m winner last September. One race since relocating to Riyadh when well held over 2000m. Did little that day but is proven over the trip and could come on for the race. Could be the surprise domestic runner.

Pin Your Hopes – Has won multiple domestic races up to 2400m. Going well but this is much harder.
