Bay Of Poets pleased connections in his latest workout ahead of the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on Saturday.
The Godolphin-owned juvenile was partnered by William Buick in the exercise, after which trainer Charlie Appleby pronounced the Lope De Vega colt a runner in the Group One on Town Moor.
Bay Of Poets will be on a retrieval mission as he disappointed in the Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket, having got off the mark in good style at Kempton on his second start.
"I was delighted with him. William rode a piece of work on him this morning. I was pleased with what I saw and William was very happy with the horse," Appleby told At The Races.
"He's a horse that travelled well into his last race, but unfortunately didn't quite see it out for whatever reason and we feel putting him back on a more conventional track will be better for him.
"We're going there hoping he'll run a nice race. We don't think he'll disappoint us, but whether he's good enough to win is another matter. Hopefully he'll run a decent race."
Bay Of Poets is as big as 33-1 for the Doncaster feature.
