The Michael Dods-trained Tattersall (8/1) took the inaugural running of The Aston Martin 3yo "Dash" Handicap under Connor Beasley.

He shaped nicely when seventh in a competitive handicap at York last month and made no mistake with the dream draw in stall thirteen, he was handed.

There was plenty of pace towards the centre of the track with eventual runner-up Miss Brazen and third-place horse Dickieburd amongst those involved. However, Epsom's sprinting golden highway soon prevailed with Connor Beasley and Tattersall coming with a decisive run against the stands' side rail. The son of Bungle Inthejungle picked up well to mow down Miss Brazen (11/1) by one and a quarter length with Dickieburd (33/1) a further neck behind in third.

Jm Jungle (17/2) finished fourth having seemingly failed to handle the track in the closing stages when hanging badly.

Marco Ghiani looked to cause considerable interference on board Tallulah Myla in the early stages but the Steward's tone did not sound.

The winning rider said: "Luckily enough he's shown today the quality that he's got and I had a lovely gate in stall 13 and bagged the stands' side rail which me and the boss discussed.

"At one stage I probably did get headed but at the same time he never gave up and if anything I was going away at the line; it was great to get that winner on the board.

"As all of our sprinters do they get better with age, and I always thought he would be a big Saturday horse and he's proved today that he is. He hasn't had that much running and I think he'll obviously improve for coming down there and hopefully he'll go on to bigger and better things now."
