Current favourite Ace Impact will be aiming to emulate Sottsass by winning both the Prix du Jockey Club and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe for trainer Jean-Claude Rouget.

The three-year-old colt heads the home defence and will be joined by compatriots Simca Mlle and Grand Prix de Paris winner Feed The Flame. Simca Mlle achieved a first Group 1 in the Grosser Preis von Berlin at Hoppegarten in August and holds a solid record at Longchamp. Andre Fabre and Fabrice Chappet are represented by Place Du Carrousel and Onesto, who are both course and distance winners.

Owen Burrow's Hukum and the Ralph Beckett-trained Westover will re-oppose following their first and second in the King George at Ascot. The pair went stride for stride in the closing stages and only a head split them at the line. They will be joined by fellow British-trained runners Bay Bridge and Free Wind.

Aidan O'Brien is currently represented by Emily Dickinson, although St Leger hero Continuous is expected to be supplemented on Wednesday, whilst the Ballydoyle trainer has indicated the former will likely contest the Prix du Cadran instead.

Germany have two entries – Sisfahan and Mr Hollywood – whilst Japan looks likely to be represented by Through The Seven Seas.
