The 2014 US Horse of the Year travelled from Kentucky on May 1, arriving at trainer Art Sherman’s stable at Los Alamitos after a six hour journey.

California Chrome had been resting at Taylor Made Farm in Kentucky since his return to the US from his Dubai World Cup triumph in March.

Sherman said the first target for California Chrome will be $200,000 San Diego Handicap on July 23 at Del Mar as his prep race for the $1 million Pacific Classic at the same track on August 20.

California Chrome’s end of season goal will be the Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita in November.
