1000 Wins For Team Valor International

Team Valor International has reached a milestone with its 1000th winner since founder Barry Irwin formed his first partnership in 1987.

The milestone was reached on July 30 when Blossom d'Orange scored by five lengths in the G3 Produccion Nacional at Maronas in Uruguay.

Irwin and Jeff Siegel began putting together public syndicates in 1987 under the banner of Clover Racing Stables.

The business morphed into Team Valor in the early 1990s. Irwin bought out Siegel in 2007 and added "International" to the business title to reflect his global ambitions.

"I couldn't have accomplished this milestone without the support of my racing partners, to whom I owe a debt of gratitude," said Irwin.

"I am just as proud of being able to operate the same business for 30 consecutive years which to me is as big a feat as winning 1000 races."

Blossom d'Orange became the 145th stakes winner from 558 individual Team Valor partnership runners.

They have won 289 stakes races or 29 percent of the 1000 wins.

Blossom d’Orange is Irwin’s 88th Group or Graded stakes winner.

The most prolific horse for Irwin was Star Of Cozzene, who won 13 races and nine stakes wins including back-to-back G1 triumphs in the Arlington Million and Man o’ War Stakes.

Irwin has syndicated 26 G1 winners overall including Kentucky Derby, Dubai World Cup, Dubai Duty Free, Breeders' Cup Turf, Santa Anita Derby, Santa Anita Handicap and Hong Kong's Queen Elizabeth II Cup winners.
