Pegasus World Cup Target For Stellar Wind

A start in the world’s richest race, the $16 million Pegasus World Cup, is on the agenda for $6 million mare Stellar Wind.

Stellar Wind has resumed training with top US trainer Chad Brown following her recent purchase for $6 million by Coolmore Stud’s MV Magnier at the Keeneland November Sale. She was previously trained by John Sadler.

She worked over a half mile at Palm Meadows Training Center on December 3 as plans for a start in the Pegasus World Cup at Gulfstream Park on January 27 were revealed.

“She is in training with Chad Brown and is under consideration for the Pegasus. The plan is still for her to be bred in the spring," said Coolmore's Scott Calder.

Stellar Wind, a triple G1 winner this year, went to auction after finishing a troubled eighth in the Breeders' Cup Distaff at Del Mar.

The 5YO -year-old daughter of Curlin was crowned US Champion 3YO Filly in 2015. This year she won the G1 Apple Blossom Handicap at Oaklawn Park in April, the G1 Beholder Mile in June at Santa Anita and the G1 Clement L. Hirsch Stakes in July at Del Mar.

Stellar Wind has won 10 of her 6 starts with earnings of more than $US2.25 million.
